Heh.. Since it's the Season for ant invasions, our house has been swamped with the teeny little fucks. We don't see many inside the house, luckily, but there are literally millions outside, all around the perimeter of the place! We're planning on getting some pesticide stuff (Don't fret people, we have no pets to worry about harming, and since the Wangstas were evicted from their house during the Winter, I don't have to worry about their Pit Bulls coming into my yard. Everyone else keeps their pets indoors and in their fenced backyards, like it should be.) from Home Depot this weekend, but last night I'd had enough while I was sitting outside. The bastids were everywhere, and a ton were right by my front door.
I'd read a while back that they hate Talcum powder and won't cross it. I only had the plain old Johnson & Johnson Baby Powder (Cornstarch), so I decided to try that out. I took the big honkin thing of Powder and dumped it on the ants I saw, and in the cracks and crevices on the front step, and around the edges of the porch.
The ones that didn't die right away, ran like hell! They really DO hate it! I'm getting more baby powder tonight and I'm sprinkling it around the perimeter of our house tomorrow. They've got a gazillion nests around the house too, so I'll be dumping it on them too. It'll do until we get the good stuff this weekend.
Try it out if you have a problem with ants. You can line your inside doorways and windows with it too. Just a thin line will do. I can guarantee that they will not cross it.
