    Default Best Hair detangler?

I need something for my frizzy-ish, color-treated damaged hair
I'm gonna look on my site, lookfantastic.com, but, am wonderiing if I can get a cheaper product. (although, I'm not against spendng $$$ if it works). Spray on, or cream leave in, doesn't matter, thanks.

It's not a detangler, but I swear by Frizz-Ease Secret Weapon Flawless Finishing Cream. Wash your hair, let it dry completely or blow dry it, and then apply the cream to your DRY hair (ends only). It has to "cure" for a few minutes, but it leaves my hair really supple and shiny. And I actually have really frizzy hair, which no one believes because they don't see it until I put this stuff on. It's dirt cheap too, like $6 at the drugstore.

I like Aussie's Knot Forgotten. Right after I got a perm it was the only thing that would make my hair combable.

Garnier Fructis - I swear by the long and strong line. It has shampoo, conditioner, and leave in, that all smells so yummy. My hair feels like silk now.

My favorite hair product is Bonacure by Schwarzkopf Moisture Spray Conditioner. Here's a picture of it : http://www.hairsupermarket.com/product.asp?id=624 . It doesn't take much of this stuff to detangle your hair . I am really glad I found it because I have been able to wear my hair a lot longer since I did . It has reduced the breakage of my thin bleached hair dramatically. It is kind of hard to find , I usually get three or four bottles if I see it at a salon. Here is an American site you can buy it from : http://store.hello-gorgeous.net/bcbomokico6.html . I have never used this site before though.

I love love love Biolage's Detangling Solution. It's not heavy, it makes my tangly fine hair easy to comb and it leaves my hair very shiny!

I have auburn hair that I bleach platinum, so my hair is FRIED. my stylist had me get the healthy sexy hair shampoo and conditioner to repair it. It doesn't break anymore and is easy to brush unlike before when I couldn't run anything through it without losing enough hair to make a wig. It's not expensive either...about 12 apiece. 911 leave in conditioner works really well too.

Giovanni spray-in conditioner, finsihed with a light spritz of any silicone/gloss spray. The silicone helps lube the hair, so to speak, and detangle it.

By the way, if you need a detangler, then you're not conditioning enough. Your hair should be smooth enough after washing and conditioning that you shouldn't need a detangler as well. Try using better conditioner - that really thick gloppy stuff that comes in tubs and looks like mayonnaise will do wonders to repair your hair. Let the conditioner sit while you shave, wash your face and body, etc. so it has time to soak in. But it should definitely brush without snagging after conditioning.

^Don't brush after conditioning when your hair is wet. Wet hair is veryy fragile. Use a wide tooth comb instead.

I like detanglers just for the way they make my hair feel, not technically b/c I NEED it. I like Biolage, a little goes a LONG way, so it's completely worth the price. That said, I also like thermasilk leave-in spray conditioner.

But it sounds like you need a better conditioner, like yekhefah said. Look for a conditioning BALM or MASQUE (thick gloppy stuff as mentioned above). Leave it on for several minutes each time you condition. Use wide tooth comb (also as stated above by someone)

A good one for $5-ish is John Freida Beach Blonde Kelp Help deep conditioning masque. I got it at target a while ago, but I know it was at walmart and walgreens too. (BTW, I don't have blonde hair, it works great on any fried hair).

I generally use various biolage products which I buy from ulta in gift packs for $22 for a set of 2, usually with a third freebie item. With all of their products, a little goes a long way and they usually last FOREVER! I can generally go a whole year with 2-3 bottles each of shampoo and conditioner (I have thick hair that goes down past my boobs).

Also - ulta has TONS of products on sale in cheap gift sets b/c of the holidays. I'd suggest going there for any of the better products, not just biolage. (if you have one close by). I myself plan on picking up a few to stock up for next year.

For me, for frizzy, damaged hair, my bulletproof resolution is to get refined, clear jojoba oil and add a couple of drops to either your regular or leave-in conditioner. Not a detangler per se, but it works amazingly for me and for a bunch of my friends. I like the clarified jojoba because it's much lighter than the golden jojoba. It's also awesome to use on the face/body.

I'm surprised no one mentioned the infusium 23 (or maybe 33?) It's a very liquidy leave in conditioner. But I use it like a detangler. I got this HUGE bottle of it a couple years ago and it's still going... (I don't use it every day...)
