    Default Please Help!!!

When i first heared about being a dancer everyone was telling me how much money you make saying it was average around 200.00 - 300.00 a night at least. But I have seen one here alot that some girls really don't make that much money. I was hoping to use this to pay for my school as well as support my family. I don't even mind driving from Missouri to somewhere else If I have to I would love to find somewhere I can make like 4000.00 a month working about two or three nights a week. Is there anywhere were this is possible or am I just having alot of wishful thinking? I know you are going to have some slow nights but in a big city how slow do they really get and what are the best citiesto look at.

Good question. Sometimes I let my head float off into the clouds... so whats the real deal? I'm also interested in knowing what dancers typically make a month too (depending on region).

It is possible to work two or three nights a week and take home $1000. It all depends on the type of club, the area and your hustle. I've known girls that can work in a shitty dive bar and bank and girls who worj in the most upscale club and not make squat.

Your earnings will not be consistent even at the same club. Monday night I walked out with less than $100 but on Tuesday I left with almost $600. And unfortunately not every dancer will be honest about how much they make.

Hi, first post here. I have been lurking for about a week.

I appreciate the honesty of your post Susan. I am planning on dancing in Knoxville while I am in grad school. I move there June 24. In order to survive I need to bring home $250 per week. I think that is a realistic goal working 3 nights per week. I know that it will fluctuate with good nights and bad nights, but if I can get $1000 per month I can still survive. Any thoughts?

right now i live in tyler, driving to dallas on the weekends to work at the clubhouse and i will bring home from $600 to $1000 for working saturday, sunday, and monday. it really all depends on the people we get in, game nights (the mavs are in the play offs right now. business is crazy going up and down) concert seasons, and summer attractions right now. i've banked in dives here in tyler, while suffering in the penthouse in dallas. i suggest finding a club with the most low milage (least touching possible) dances so you don't feel like you have to compete or lower your standards for a few bucks simply because its the "norm" for dances. only work where you are comfortable and set reasonable hours and you will do just fine. every one loves a new girl so you will make some good $$ off of that. try going as a customer first to get a feel for things, then apply for a job if you like what you see. don't ask for a job because they are there, make sure you will like it there. if you don't like it, you don't have to endure it for a shift. i really hope you like dancing. if you are not sure try waitressing for a while. it can be good money too, but that varies as well.

    good luck!

$200-300 a night average for a newbie sounds a little optomistic. You won't make that kind of money at first ( or may never earn that kind of money). We are well beyond the days when if you could get hired at a club, you could bank.

Clubs aren't picky about who they hire, and frequently there are way more girls dancing than customers in the club. Even hard core veteran hustlers have days where they go home with very little or even in the hole.

Stripping now is a little like being a real estate agent. You make very little at first, it takes up all of your time, and leaves you frustrated and exhausted. But if you can work the customers and develop a good client base, you eventually can make great money w/o having to work too hard- just show up! But that process can take months of dancing for gross pervs or making $0 on shifts. Not a fun trade off.

For faster money and more free time I recommend that you try doing private shows, instead. You are guarenteed to get paid for your work, plus you still have the ability to earn tips over and above your fee for shows.

Promote yourself and earn more money! This is a business that is owned by strippers for strippers. Let's make that money!

it depends on many many factors. being a new dancer you will have to hone your hustling and people skills. for some people this comes fast others slow. id say it took me 8 months to get to a good hustle level and a year and a half to become a master. everyone is different. it also depends on your location, your looks and personality. try it, see how you do.

Every one told me I would make a lot when I first started. The main way I actually did make a lot weather it was "good" or "slow". Is you have to be open for everyone who comes in. There will always be someone who wants to give you all their money for your company. YOu just have to find him.
    GOOD LUCK.

I wouldn't recommened doing private shows to start out for a newbie. That just sounds dangerous.
Where I live it is completely realistic for a girl to expect to make $250- 600 a shift.

Ok i completely disagree here. I began dancing as a newbie in the middle of nowhere, upstate western bumblefk PA (just below the NY border) and i would not trust that me to be able to draw the lines in a private show. Now, MAYBE. and i have been dancing for 6 years!!! whatever you do, DON'T start with private shows! the men will be grabby and overly pervy because they think they can get you to do more. and private shows are completely different than dancing, where the boundaries (of what's ok) are already drawn for you.

Now, when i began dancing in the middle of nowhere at the only club for over 60 miles, i would work a shift from 6p.m.-2 am (they were only open thurs-sat, that was the only shift) and often would walk with $150-200. to me now, that's crap. but at the time, it was more than i had to begin with. So my advice is to just start at the closest club (preferably a smaller one) and see what your natural ability is at selling dances.

    Love it!
