Default Little biatch copied off my costume!!! Ughh!!!

I'm really into the themed costumes. I have a school girl, sailor, aviator and a playboy bunny costume. My club isn't a costume type of club either. It's more of a lingerie club. Most girls there wear Victoria Secret stuff. Besides maybe a really short school girl skirt, that's about as costume as they get there. Everyone at my club knows that I'm into the costumes because whenever I have something new on and they say "Oh you got another new costume, it's so cute...." My newest costume is the Playboy Bunny and everyone knows I have that one including the housemoms and managers because they complimented on me when I wore it recently. Well I come into work last night and there's this girl that went out and bought a Playboy Bunny costume and was wearing it last night!!!! I went up to her and said " you know I have that costume" SHe played all dumb and said she didn't know but still kept on wearing it all night. I know I don't have any ownership on anything and anyone can do whatever they want but still! I would never copy off another dancers outfit. Part of this job is having originality and being able to stick out in the crowd and having your own thing. So it just amazes me that this girl got one. And the night I wore it this other girl was asking me where I got it and if she gave me money would I get her one. Whatever!! I feel like asking them if they're on crack!!!! No, I'm not going to get you one! Has this happened to you before, stupid bitches copying off your outfit or trying to copy off of you? What have you done? Did it piss you off too? Or do you think I'm being ridiculous about it?

Yes girls copy me sometimes. They are usually the less creative, more lazy types, and often aren't very good moneymakers. It does irritate me, but I have gotten rather more daring with some of my outfits over the years than most girls will go, so that keeps them from copying me too much. I get bored easily with my outfits so I keep finding new stuff - that makes it harder for the copycats to keep up

I have it happen often, and like Bridgette said, it really wasn't the best copy.. heh heh.. I usually discard the offending costume and find something better.
I have to admit it is annoying when you feel like you cam eup with an original idea and then it is copied, but money is money, and sometimes girls don't care if they look identical to you if it helps their chances of making money with the same outfit. thankfully it rarely works, I've had many a girl buy a similar outfit and been told by custies and employees alike that I have the same one.. Bascally it's a hint that it looked better on me.. *evil laugh*

On a lighter note, I accidentaly received two identical dresses in the mail, I sold one for the price I paid for mine and basically ended up with a free dress and a new friend.. She is taller and darker skinned (African American with very long black hair and she comes with big boobies, I am white and that's about it, heh) I said we could wear the outfit together and no one could tell us apart.. ha ha
It's times like that that I appreciate the chickies that like my outfits, it's a compliment. Plus, she promised not to wear it when I was there, super super nice. I wouldn't have minded, but again super super nice.

Odds are, if they were all complimenting you, you look better than she does in it. So maybe wait a while longer, until she gets tired of it, and try wearing it again if you want. Sounds like it was a winner on you, and though she may think she'll get the same results with the same costume, she won't, and eventually she'll figure it out.

It is actually pretty amazing how much different the same outfit can appear on a different woman--it's caught me by surprise many times, or at least for a while, and occasionally I will totally fail to recognize an outfit (obviously not something like a bunny outfit), that I have seen another dancer wear on a regular basis, that she has borrowed. The cut of a certain costume can really compliment one woman, and just look alright on another.

So your consolation is, you drew all eyes to yourself, and she's trying to copy you. You can do it again, and she can copy you...

    See where I'm getting at?

Another thing you can consider is getting costumes made, or making them yourself. If it's done right, it will look fantastic on you, and either no one else will be able to match it, or they will look dumb trying. Like they're trying to copy you, maybe--but failing miserably.

Thank you everyone! I appreciate all that. I'm glad to hear that I'm not being petty. Djoser, great idea on the getting costumes custom made to me. Do you or anyone have any idea where I could get that done? Would it be a seamstress? I would like to find one. If anyone knows how I could go about doing that, please let me know. Thanks and hope everyone who's working tonight makes lots & lots of $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$!!!

The girls are most likely complimenting you. How many times in real life do people like something you are wearing and ask you where you got it?

A girl at a club I book at like a themed costume I bought in Phoenix and asked me if I would get her one when I went back. I did. I also sell costumes in these rural clubs, and this same girl is one of my best customers.

Leo Girl, I think you may be letting the competitiveness of this business block you from seeing the good in people. Everyone is not out to take from you. How many times have you seen someone wear something you like and asked them where they got it? We all have. When I do that it's not because I want to steal someone elses thunder, it is because I genuinely like something they have.

Do you think possibly this business is affecting you when it comes to giving people the benefit of the doubt?

Plus, I am sure you have multiple costumes. I always take multiple costumes with me to work, so if someone has something on similar to me, I will wear something else. If you do that, no 2 girls will have the same costumes on at the same time.

That's such a serious bummer! I'm not creative enough to ever have that happen to me... But I'd be pissed, too! Maybe you two can work it together? A themed set or something? Otherwise, just ignore it and she should get tired of it eventually.

I have my costumes custom made from a woman who promises one of a kind clothing. I have the hottest peacock costume that fans up the tail and everything. It was only $300AUD. :3 Good idea to do. Who can rightly copy THAT without it looking like stealing 100%?

I don't think it's that I'm not seeing the good in people because I do, I think I just have a harder time seeing that in my club. My club is very very cut throat, there are girls that will step in the middle of you when you're with a customer just to get an extra buck. So when I see someone wearing something that I got, it just made me mad. I do know that copying is considered a compliment and in any other situation I wouldn't mind. If I was in a club that wasn't so cut throat, I'm sure it wouldn't bother me so much.

^ Oh hey! I remember another thread you had about how cut throat the girls are at your club! Yup yup, that definately makes it worse.

Well, her outfit could always go missing one night ::wink wink:: Just kidding!!!!!

It's the exact same costume, exact same one. Mine's black and it's the exact same one.

Hmm. Getting worked up over a Playboy Bunny outfit is a little unreasonable in my opinion. That is like girls getting worked up over other girls wearing school girl skirts or high heels. It is kind of a staple - so much so, that I don't know if it can viably be considered copying. I understand that it is inconvenient, and I sympathize, but I think that your irritation with the inconvenience might be a little misplaced.

A girl once bitched me out because for my last song I used to put on a white dress shirt (my roommate's idea. She thought it looked hot). She said that SHE wore a white shirt and that it was HER thing, and that I should have asked before I stole it. I told her I was sorry, and that I also wore high heels and took off my clothes, and asked if those were her "things" too. Bottom line if you couldn't claim a patent, it isn't "your" thing: a sexy lobster you could claim; a sexy bunny, I'm pretty sure is taken. (Although now "sexy lobster" is MY thing. You can't have it).

Well, that's how the girls are in my club. For example, this one dancer was wearing this corset from Victoria Secret and I told her that at one point I almost bought it back when it was in the stores but it didn't fit me right. She said "Well, it's a good thing you didn't because this is what I wear all the time." Just what I've gathered so far, when someone gets something new, something that's not the ordinary bra & panties, something that's different from the rest, I think it's kinda an unspoken rule that you don't go out and buy the same thing that someone is wearing. From what I've learned on SW there are some unspoken rules at clubs, some clubs unspoken rules are you don't hustle & dance for guys at the tip rail unless you instruct them to tip all the girls on stage. This isn't the case at my club. Girl hustle , dance for & take guys back to VIP that are sitting at the stage all the time, it's no big deal at our club. But from what I've gathered, the not wearing the same outfit is. THe school girl is hard to not have the same because every club store has those skirts but I got my bunny costume specially sent from an online store not from a club store. You're right, I can't claim a patent on the costume but you do know there are unspoken rules in stripclubs and from what I've learned so far, that's one of them in my club, excluding the schoolgirl outfit.

i think there are far more important things to worry about. i mean, yeah it sucks that you aren't the only one there with that outfit now but, it's not a big deal. also, maybe she really DIDN'T know you had it. i bought a little ref outfit a few months ago unaware that one of our nightshift girls had the same outfit. one day i was staying over into the nightshift and she showed up wearing it. we just laughed about it, shit happens.

I had a girl last month come in a few hours after I had started my shift and put on exactly what I had on. And glared at me for hours about it. I was fittin to set the cow on fire too. Seriously. I'd be livid if I were THAT specific and original at my club and someone pulled that. Hell yes. I'd cut her seam threads.

It is a bit annoying when that happens. Luckily if you had it on first the copier usually changes outfits.

Ha! I'm right in the middle of making a sexy lobster costume for Bambi the Mermaid. I'm not kidding at all. You can see a photo of her shrimp costume:
