    Default Airbrush Tanning/Airtan

    Hey gals,

I've been doing airtans for my bridal clients, and was wondering if I should advertise my services at clubs as well? I work as a freelance makeup artist and I go to my clients' home. I was wondering if this was something dancers would be interested in?

What brands do you currently use for those that do get airtans? I'm doing research for different solutions. What has been your experience? Good/bad?

    Thanks!

my friend just bought a california tanning system for her spa.. she was really happy with it.
I've also been a demo for the Dinair system and fell in love w/ it.

    I'd definatly be interersted...

What is airtain? Is this like Mystic tan - those spray on things?

Yes, it's a spray-on tan, done using an airbrush. It's what most HW stars do for their tan.

I had a Mystic tan with mixed results. The color was good on my body but not so good on my face. I have never had an airbrush tan. Lately I've been experimenting with self tanners at home. I get the best results with mousse or spray blended in quickly with a foam paintbrush. I exfoliate and shave the morning of in the bathtub. Soak for a while and then use the rough side of a washcloth to slough off your skin. It's disgusting and fascinating to watch all the dead skin roll off. Then I rinse and moisturize all over with a heavy duty moisturizer on the dry spots (feet, elbows, knees). Later in the day or evening I put on a light moisturizer over the dry spots again, and then I self-tan. It takes at least 3 or 4 applications (no exfoliating after the first one) to get to a noticeable color on my ultra-fair skin.

Why not advertise? Make up flyers with your contact info and offer a 10% dancer discount. Call up clubs in your area and ask them if you can stop by. Or advertise on the Services section of SW.

I will do that. My small airbrush compressor is great for airbrush makeup but not tans, so once I get a bigger, stronger compressor, I'm gonna make a flyer and also post here.
