Default Asian Dancer looking to travel

Hi All. I've been dancing at the Foxy in Providence for 3 weeks now and I want to start travelling. I wasn't earning very much my first few shifts but my earnings are steadily increasing. I'm very shy and hustling doesn't come naturally to me, but I'm learning.

I've been reading about different cities and different clubs and their preferences in terms of types of girls. For instance, I hear that LA and Las Vegas prefers blondes. I'm a petite Asian, 5'2" 115 lbs. I want to start travelling with my boyfriend or with some of the girls I work with. I'm not into any of the extras stuff but am still interested in great earning potential. I am a little apprehensive about some of the huge clubs, like the ones in NYC and Vegas. Foxy currently has maybe 50 dancers. 300 girls for a club seems very intimidating, but I'm willing to give it a try.

In which cities and clubs could I make great bank and have a great time in as well? Any suggestions? I'm gonna post some of my pictures. Unfortunatey, I don't have any recent full-figured shots. The Foxy photographer George actually featured me in the Phoenix for the Foxy ad this week and next week as well; I've only been with the club for two weeks. You can see some of the pics he took of me at . Anyway, thanks for your help all!!!

Oh, and for those of you who are curious as to my last post, I did end up dying my hair back to black. The customers do seem to like it better!!!

I would love to go overseas. I would have to plan a longer trip to Australia though . I have a few friends that lived there for a short while and they love it. Just got back from Chicago this morning (not dancing, just vacation) and quite a few single men hit on me with my boyfriend still present; was thinking that maybe the Midwest might be the way to go. Don't know how much money is in the Midwest though.

For this time of year I would suggest New York. Once September/October gets here I would try Las Vegas (and also Phoenix), it is kind of slow there right now because there aren't many tourists because of the extremely hot weather. Miami usually really picks up in about November/December after hurricane season is over, when and tourist season begins. And as for LA I have no idea.

Guenevere, thank you very much! George, our photographer, is an artist. He does great work. It looks like I'll be travelling around the globe, yeay!!!! I'm just afraid that I'll spend more on the trip than I make. All of your suggestions are awesome; I've always wanted to see Phoenix too!!! Chocolatekiss, I'm glad to see that the up seasons for some places overlap with our down season here in New England. The summer time tends to be the hopping time due to bachelors parties and such. New England sucks in the winter time.

I don't think that it really depends on your background. LA earnings are low. Try NY now. Vegas in fall/winter.

It's summertime in New York, where things are generally slower too because most people with means have summer homes in the Hamptons.

I think you're really beautiful, and would do well almost anywhere. I don't think many clubs would pass you over because you're Asian. There's something to be said for being a big fish in a small pond, meaning you could clean up in places where there aren't a lot of Asian dancers. You might wish to try NYC in mid to late August to reserve your schedule for the fall, which is the busiest season here. If you can deal with the big pimpin' champagne hosts of NYC it's not bad, but other places with much lower expenses are better and more consistent.

I am an Asian dancer and have been traveling extensively over the past few years. I don't think you will have a problem wherever you choose, I tend to agree whith everyone else. As for a few pointers, I find that traveling for the events are where it is. I know you don't like big crowds, so this may not be for you. I find that we Asian girls have a whole different aspect to the market and you will be surprised at how the market will "flex" for you. Good luck! If you ever want more tips e-mail me at [email protected] and I will be happy to help you!

Just another quick update about Vegas. My friend currently works there and she just had a really bad weekend. Summer has arrived.

What would a really bad weekend be? I don't really know if it is bad for Vegas standards or for standards overall. Thanks.

A bad weekend in Vegas is bad by ANY standards. Read up on the various Vegas threads and you'll see. Vegas is NOT the moneypot at the end of the rainbow as so many people think.
