    Default Erasing the past

    Theoretical situation:

You sign some releases for hundreds of nude pictures when you are 18 and stupid.

Fast forward. You are 30 and want the pictures removed from the internet.

Is there any hope for someone in this situation? What does it take? A lawyer? Can you ever really erase what you've signed off for?

Thanks. PM me if you want.

Basically, a signed release says he owns the pictures. Unless you can talk the owner out of the pics or buy him/her off (the copyright holder) you're SOL. And if they do take them offline, whoever he sold rights to or distributed them to has the rights they bought/got/stole/whatever. Sorry, but that's the bottom line. I've been a photog for 19 yrs...been there, but usually I get softy when girls ask nice. If they don't ask nice, i raise the price. There usually IS a price.

However, if you're ever up for doing some "sexy not sexual" shoots or donating images for charity, let me know. See www.pinups4.com or www.makeitsexy.com to see the kind of sites I run. Profits donated to charity

Pinup, signed contracts are usually binding. Aside from the solicitation, I agree with proMarket. Probably nothing you can do, but a nice approach to the photographer might bear some results.

I would say you're probably SOL. I can't imagine that internet pics don't get stolen and distributed to all kinds of places that were never intended. That's pretty much part of the deal - once you take the pic, it can go ANYwhere. So, IMO, even if you do get the original photographer to remove them, they're probably spread all around anyway, making it pointless.

but if the photographer protects them on his website then yes, I think you've got a shot-- otherwise, yes, they're probably all over the net.
Also, most photographers I know (especially with old pictures) are super cool with you BUYING them back. Hopefully he won't try to screw you on the price, but ask nicely first, and maybe he'll do it anyways, and then offer to pay.
