I really need help in that department. I think a back can be one of the sexiest body parts on a dancer when it's toned. What are some of your tips? What's a good way to get the "V"?
Thanks chicas!

Consider doing push-ups and pull-ups (there's many different varieities), and adding swimming to your cardio exercise. Swimmers have a great V for a reson- and swimming is a great way to develop your back.
I like Pilates for toning your lower back. For your upper back, sit on a chair and bend your chest toward your knees. Hold 10-20 pound dumpbells in each hand as you pull your shoulder blades together and lift your arms up (you can keep your arms straight or bend your elbows).
Also, lay on your back, knees bent and your bellybutton pulled into your spine. Hold a 10-20 pound dumpbell in your hands, arms straight above your chest. Slowly lower the weight backwards, over your head and toward the floor. Keep your abs tight as you slowly use your back muscles to pull the weight up and above your chest again.
Hope this makes sense?

I totally get what you are saying. I can visualize. Thanks!
Pilates helps my posture and has strenghtened my back and decreased my back pain.
