Thread: Much higher earnings after a little R&R

Default Much higher earnings after a little R&R

So for the last week I have had pretty crappy earnings, and by the weekend I just couldn't bear the thought of dealing with the Saturday night crowd...so....I DIDN'T! I have been working 5-6 days a week 6-11 hour shifts and not earning what I think I should for all that time. I TOOK 3 DAYS OFF and pampered myself. I sat at home with the hubby and our kitties and relaxed, got a mani and pedi, watched movies on the couch and let myself eat whatever I wanted for my mini vacation. Today was my first day back and I was SO refreshed and happy to be at work. It was like I was totally renewed and when I left at 1:30 I had done the most VIP's all night! Everyone was talking about how there was no $$ to be made...but I was surely smiling to myself since I had banked ;] I didn't get a single- NOT A SINGLE "No Thanks" tonight. Each person I asked to dance for said Yes.

Moral is: TAKE CARE OF YOURSELVES.

It's really true- 4 full shifts is better than 6 half assed ones!

I'm so hard headed, had to figure that one out for myself even though it's been said many times before.

True! Congrats on your awesome night. I realized I do better when I'm rested on Monday night, I felt fine, did great, the other girls left with 50 bucks. So, you made more money, AND had more time for yourself! Yay!

I realized that it wasn't time to go back to work right now. I've been dormant since February. Mostly because I've been getting my life straight, got back into school, had 2 deaths in the family recently, and getting my health back up there and getting in shape. I know when I decide to go back that'll I'll do MUCH better than if I tried to just throw myself back in the game.

I used to work for a club that only let their dancers do 4 shifts a week maximum, (unless under very special circumstances, like you had to pay for a holiday but even then 5 at the very max.) The reason for this is they found when girls worked more than this they strated to actually earn less, be more unreliable, ie. being late, missing shifts, and to look like shit as they we'rent sleeping enought, didnt have time to go to the gym, salon, ect. I try and stick to this even now. I only book myself in for 3 shifts a week and if i wanna do an extra one ill call them that night and theyre usually fine with letting me come in, which I usually do. I also try not to do more than 3 shifts in a row, any more than this and I feel myself going a bit crazy!

I'm so glad someone made a thread about this! I'm taking a week off (Saturday was the last day I worked. Monday will be the first) to move and my mom's throwing this family reunion over the entire weekend... and it's my friends birthday. Plus, I was getting seriously burnt out. My earnings were okay... I was just.... Well, you know. NOW I'm seriously itching to go back! I'm hoping the excitment of being there again will help me bank.

I've also come to the realisation that I can only work three nights in a row before I have to take 24 hours off so I can work another three in a row. I learnt this after working in one club Tues-Sat... by the time the weekend came I just didn't want to be there (I couldn't take the night off as I was contracted to work that schedule).

At the same time, there are the rare few who can work many nights in a row without much stress... then again they may only be doing 5 hour shifts each night... that extra hour or three really does add up in the end.

I work three nights a week and it eats my soul when I try to do them all at once.. A nice break in between helps me heal both inside and out..
We should give ourselves a little break and a hug now and then.
Please don't lick me, it tickles..

I HAVE to rest in between days. How can I feel like a Goddess if I feel like a Bitch?
