What is it with club managers that they can be on such a power trip??I have to travel 3hrs to get to the club i work in so i go there on a thursday and stay in a hotel/with a friend, till sunday, working every night. (Im actually moving there to make life easier but thats another story.) So anyways, on Wed I realised that i was comin down with something and wasnt going to make it down so i called to let them know. Im always really reliable with my shifts and although Ive only been there 2 months I know Im one of the top earners.
Anyways, so I called and for no apparent reason the manager was being deliberatly akward with me. First he told me that I would have to get all my shifts covered myself which is unrealistic as Ive only been there a short time and dont socialise with girls at work so am unable to call any and ask for cover. Then he told me that i would have to cover another 3 shifts the following week to make up for the shifts I was missing, which would mean me working 6 nights straight and having to pay nearly £400 in hotel fees alone!
I tried not to argue with him but he was just being completely unreasonable and a general pain in the ass. He then tried to suspend me for 4weeks to, "recover from my illness!" At this I took a deep breath and said that I only had the flu and didnt need 4weeks I just needed the weekend off and that I would pay a fine for the nights I was missing. I then went on to say that I would gladly come into work looking and feeling like shit but I didnt think that I was a particular asset to the club in the state I was in. He finally agreed that he would see me the following week and he would discuss it with me then.
I understand that management must get pissed off with girls booking and cancelling shifts but surely when your genuinly ill you dont deserve treatment like this??![]()
Sorry about the rant guys but Im feelin ill and sorry for myself and wanted to get it off my chest, this was just the last thing I needed. Do any of you have any power tripping managers?
