Want to buy a bike but what kind?

Im thinking of buying a bike but i dont know what kind. im looking between bmx/trick bikes or these "townies" bikes.

i like these what does anyone think?

i just dont want street bikes with a million speeds. all i want is something durable with hand breaks, maybe 3 speeds. and pink...if possible

When and where do you intend to ride?

A bike like that would be good if all you want to do is tool around a bit on relatively flat terrain. If you're going to ride frequently, on trips of any length, I'd recommend a 21-gear hybrid.

Those bikes are heavy and not geared very well. Riding one of those takes a lot more effort than a more serious model. They are a bit more comfortable of course!

After a bit of looking around, I discovered that they have 21-speed models. Here are some reviews:

I know a lot of women who ride around in crazy spandex too!

I suspect that what you call a street bike is actually known as a road bike. They have the drop bars. You commonly see them in The Tour de France.

Hybrids are a cross between a cruiser and a road bike.

If you're not into street/hybrid bikes, then you may do well with one of these. I don't know anything about them, so I can't comment as to the quality and reliability.

Trek makes a great roadbike. Gears are good but rarely ever used to capacity. It's wise to keep a low amount of features in your target bike. It is just a bike...but stay off pink if you're trollin for booty on the boardwalk

If you like cruising on road surfaces, try not to get high-tred tires, get the more rounded.

My trek 800 gets it's use and I get my money out of it. Biking is a joy compaired only by running

I'd link trekbikes.com to particular bikes but it's not cooperating, and I doubt that it's bubblegum enough for your tastes

    I have a Trek--they're great!

The gears, who cares, lol--I just keep it in the highest gear at all times. We don't have hills here in Florida, we have bridges, some of them are fairly steep, too--but if I have to downshift I give myself endless shit about it.

But gears or no gears--there's still a hell of a difference between my Trek and any other bike I've ever had.
