He now has a bullet lodged in his chest.. another one grazed his chest and another his chin. Uh yea no thanks..

Damn. According to a well known American "documentary" fimmaker, you Canadians don't lock your doors at night much less shoot each other. Yet if you read today's online edition of the Toronto Star, you'd swear the news was coming out of Detroit or something.

    http://www.thestar.com/NASApp/cs/Con...d=968163964505

Here's an article I found on the club shooting:

    http://torontosun.com/News/TorontoAn...52172-sun.html

I found this quote rather disturbing, yet painfully full of truth. .

"I'm from New York," said one man, who refused to give his name. "So it doesn't bother me. I see it every day."

    In any regards, stay safe.

Jesus! Yeah, we've had some shootings at Pigales and Nuden in the last year. I think a bouncer was shot as well...Canadians point guns at things without moose antlers as well. That's freaky Cally. I'm sorry to hear that. (nice avatar pic by the way)

Good idea to get out of there. That club's days are numbered anyway because of the bad publicity over the shooting.

    Stay safe, girl.

Yea its not getting a lot of publicity I guess... cant blame them for trying to hide it seeing as the club is supposed to have a good rep. But I honestly dont think I want to work there if I have to worry about this stuff. From what i've heard the bouncer pretty much asked for it. Some customer grabbed a waitresses ass so the bouncer threw the guy through the glass door. How smart is that So umm.. as much as I enjoyed that club I dont think i'll return. My safety is more important then the money I made there.

Yeah, it happens, and it happened in my club too. But it's been 6 months, and I no longer wonder if people are following me, lol--and the guys who shot my friends are long gone--to Texas, supposedly. Well, the guys who actually shot them are in jail awaiting trial, I should say, but the crew they hung with have long gone--good riddance.

It was a similar incident that sparked the trouble in my club, except the guys that got thrown out were serious assholes and troublemakers, and they would have been beaten too severely to shoot anything at several other clubs for doing what they did. So the asst mgr's restraint almost got him killed, and it did get my friend (the other DJ) killed.

I can understand why you wouldn't want to work there anymore, and I hope you can find a better club.

I actually did a search on the Toronto Star and found nothing, except a 24 year old man who was shot by police and a 22 year man killed in a housing complex. What club was this? (PM if it is sensitive).

The bouncer who was shot was actually out of the hospital yesterday. He came into the club last night around 6 to get stuff from his locker. He's one lucky dude!

If I were the owners I'd do a security review, that's for sure!! I'd also hire professional security, as opposed to a bunch of large untrained guys.

The metal detectors will help, but if the guys want to shoot you, bad enough, they'll wait outside or follow you home--that's the way two different shooting incidents happened at my club.

I'm so sorry, Cally. There are better things to do in life than worry about sudden violence like that. Time to move along. Keep the pretty ass safe.

When I was in Cali, the running joke at the Rhino was that you had to get shot protecting the clubs money to move up! It was pretty funny! I knew a couple employees that had been shot and then worked for corporate after the recovery!! LOL!
(I'm sure it was just because they deserved it, they were very good employees. )

Well, as I will detail in a forthcoming TR on the blue side, I was at a Seattle club last week and some idiot was shot and killed in his car, parked about 10 feet from my rental in the parking lot....it was very interesting, and I am glad the guy did not damge the rental.

There have been shootings, stabings, fights, group brawls at every club Ive worked at over the years. Shit happens... if I wouldnt work somewhere that something 'bad' happened Id be outta job. Chances of it happening again Im sure are very slim.

Good for you Cally, get the hell out of there!

I read about that shooting in the Winnipeg Free Press. I always worried about something like that happening out here in Winnipeg with some of the scummy-ass bars we do shows in.

Money is never worth your safety, hence the reason why I would refuse bookings in bad bars.
