    Sad ouch!!!

I haven't been dancing for very long. I just started learning pole tricks about a month ago. I've been getting what can only be described as "pole burn". Any good tips to help prevent my skin from sticking to the pole??? I know lotion is a BIG no no, and i can't think of anything that will help.

I've been dancing for about 2 months (no pole at my club though) and I still get sore. Not as much as when I first started but it does get better in time. Since I've never done a pole before I really dont' know but I'm sure you'll learn different moves & get stronger & figure out moves & techniques that will keep your body away from it so you don't hurt yourself on it. Enjoy your job!!! Go make some $$$$$ girlie!!!

If you just started dancing, I highly recommend checking out & reading a lot of the threads on here. It gave me a tremendous amount of info that probably would've taken me years to figure out just dancing on my own. These threads will help you a lot. Hustle Hut is great for getting more $ out of guys, dollar den is great, definitely newbie board & stripping general, these have been my favorites.

there's not much to do about pole "burn" it's because of friction..and that's all physics.

The only thing you could do is possibly slow your spins down so there isn't so much friction between your skin and the pole.

if it's bruises you're getting, get some arnica cream/gel in the health food section and put that on each bruise a couple times a day and they'll go away soon!

Stockings are good, but then it'll probably be slippery...

I tried to do my first pole trick the other night and it went well except my leg stuck to the pole so next time I wear stockings I'm going to try again!

You can try wearing sweat bands on your wrists but generally the more you pole the better you will position your hands to prevent pole burn. Arnica works well on bruises too, either the cream or the tablets, hope this helps x

If it's on your body, a small amount of baby powder will help. Dust lightly then take a dry towl and lightly wipe off excess. Make sure you don't get any on your hands though. I also, would only put it in the areas you have problems with because it can show up under black lights. When I first started I used it on the backs of knees and inner thighs, where I had major pole contact.
