But I am kinda scared of like falling and making an ass of myself or not doing some the right kind of dancing!
not trying to get off thread but should I work out a couple of months before I start so I am in good shape and it doesn't hurt so bad?

I just started stripping and trust me your going to be sore NO MATTER WHAT! I work out all the time and I was still really sore. Just think of doing a really hard workout for like 8 hours straight! I would walk around your house and practice in the shoes that way. Don't worry about your moves in two days I had learned so much from just watching and you will to! Just go get an audition!!
Yes, you will be sore. I have been dancing for almost 6 years now and I still get sore after a few days straight.
As for falling, its bound to happen just face it, laugh and move on. I personally didn't fall until I was dancing about a year or so but when I did I did a great job. No half assing here.... I fell on main stage on a Friday night and my fake ponytail came out at the same time. All I could do was laugh and take a bow. I actually made a few tips just from that. Anyway, once you fall once and get over the initial horror its just another day at work.
Good luck!

I agree, I've fallen, not on stage but while I was dancing for a customer. I'm in an airdance club and I've actually fallen right on their lap. (I know they didn't mind-lol) All I did was laugh at myself and say "oh, I guess that wine's getting to me a little" or I'll say "Oops, did I do that?" Just make a laugh about it, it's really not that big a deal!

I fell flat on my face my frist day at work! I was on the floor crulled up into a ball laughing my ass off. Everyone was like "is she alright?" If it does happen its not as bad as You would think it is. Just laugh it off then go make some money! Hehe....
Ballerina's fall, tap dancers fall, cheerleaders fall, hip hop dancers fall. At some time or another all dancers fall while trying to execute a move. Exotic dancers have even more likelyhood of falling because most a) have no formal dance training b)are wearing 6" plus heels c) are trying to get undressed while dancing d) The Pole- not an easy obsticle to overcome when sober but... e) exotic dancers work while drinking alcohol.
Even though I work totally sober, I've fallen many times on stage. Customers spill drinks, dancers use lotion or baby oil before coming to work and get it all over the stage, slip on money that was thrown on stage, trip over my costume that I just removed, customers grabbing at me causing me to jerk away from him and any of a number of other situations that might cause me to lose my balance and fall. Once I was working in a club in summer and the air conditioning went out. I fell because sweat dripped into my eyes, and I couldn't see.
As far as the soreness, that is the easy part. It is just like when you start an exercise program. It takes about 2 weeks to get over the soreness at work and for your body to adapt to the new motions of your job. Tylenol or Aleve will help decrease the pain. Also make sure you are supplementing with protien, glutamine, CLA and Glucosamine to assist in healing. Also try Bromalian to help prevent bruising and to heal exisiting bruises.
Promote yourself and earn more money! This is a business that is owned by strippers for strippers. Let's make that money!
You'll get in shape QUICK as a dancer, don't worry too much. And I've fallen off a really high stage and the guy just caught me and smiled.![]()
