Whatever you do for the 4th, if you see a veteran, please take the time to thank him or her. And, while you are attending that barbecue, just keep in your thoughts all of those who died in the service of this Nation from the Revolution to today. Just remember them.
Ive never been one for overt public displays, and any veteran I have known or encountered has always been uncomfortable with overt attention paid to them. However, I have found that a simple handshake and a quiet, dignified "Thank you" speaks volumes to their hearts.
