    Default Tanlines and fake nails

If you are working as a dancer, are you not suposed to have any tan-lines ? are they like, unacceptable or something?

because im white on my boobs and bottom(of course..i dont have a backyard to tan naked and i dont want to go to a tanning salon.)

so if youre not susposed to have tanlines, you can just use like sunless tanner, right?

OH..and about nails...is there any press on nails that work good? i love long nails but i wouldnt like to be getting my nails done all the time since it sort of ruins yer natural nails. my natural nails dont grow long/strong tho!

    thanks for any input!

I don't know about the tan lines thing, I go to a tanning salon, although some people don't like to do that, maybe you could compromise and just go once in a while to get rid of the lines....possibly? But about the nails, press on nails WILL break off very easily, they are very very different from getting your nails done at a salon. With fake nails, they do ruin your real nails, but once you take them off if you decide you don't want them anymore, your real healthy nail will grow back and it will be just as good as it was before, it just takes a couple months for all the bad nail to grow out and be cut off. But if you do decide to get your nails done at a salon here's a tip, ask the nail artist if there are any colors that will glow in a black light, there are many polished that glow different colors, it's really neat!

I have always tanned with a bikini top on. I would sometimes tan with a thong on as well. Some guy like the tan lines and not a lot of girls at my club had them so it made me stand out. My nails never grew either until I started using Revivanail and mine were damaged from acrylic nails too. You can get it in some nail salons or here http://www.cachebeauty.com/revivanail.htm. While my nails were growing I would just put this on as a clear coat and just make sure they were clean and filed.

Some have tan lines, some don't. Some have fake nails, some don't. I don't tan and I do my own natural nails.

All of the guys I've come across love tanlines, as long as it's not a t-shirt and shorts tan.
As for the press on nails I've come across a couple kinds that stay on pretty well I put them through hell, plus I have oily nail beds, Which causes acrylics not to stay on very long. Most drug stores cary a wide variety, and they're only a fraction of the price you'd pay at a salon. Plus most come with pretty little stick on decals and gems (use the glue).

I do a t-back tan and little tantoos. They are cute. I don't do my nails though, too much of a fuss for someone as klutzy as me.

broadway nails from wal-mart are great! i wear them all of the time. tan lines, i don't think sunless would be good because it would probably be a different color.

I think tan lines are sexy though I prefer a thong or brazilian one to a full-butt one. I think press-on nails aren't a good choice; either get them done or take care of yours better.

Hmm, many guys love tan lines, they say they're sexy.

As for the fake nails, yeah they do ruin your real nails!... I hate that! A manicure would be your best bet, (hopefully you dont bite your nails, like me! Had that annoying habit forever!). Simply keep your nails (hands and feet) nice and pretty.

I do the fake nails thing, but I am a serious nail biter, I would bite mine until they bleed so it's a solution to a nasty problem.
I go every two weeks and have my nails done and my toe nails painted to match my french tips. As far as fake nails ruining
your real ones, if you don't destroy them like I do I would just keep them nicely painted I go to the tanning salon when
I am stressed out it makes me happy. I don't want my skin to become like leather so I use this hemp lotion that darkens my
skin from use it's not really a self tanner because it takes about a week to darken your skin so it's not orange.

100% gel nails (NOT acrylic) will not ruin your nails. The problem with acrylic is the acidic primer used to prep the nail eats microscopic holes in the nail plate in order for the acrylic to anchor to the nail. These holes allow moisture, dirt, and pathogens a way to enter the nail bed, which will seriously fuck up your nails. A good salon with high sanitation standards, regular upkeep, and the use of a non-acrylic gel will keep your nails healthy--even after the nails are removed. I only know this because I used to be a nail tech. I kept my gels on for years, and when I removed them, my nails were the same as they ever were.

Fake nails are nice but you need to spend the money to keep them looking neat, filling them, painting them, rhinestones and all that. With Acrylics if you wait to long to get a fill I find they get really weak and sometimes create air bubbles underneath them (which can let bacteria in).
I like keeping my nails short and clean, with just a clear non-uv glowing topcoat. Toes I never worry about- I'm always in boots.

But no I absolutely hate tan lines. A nicely placed thong tan and add curves to your backside, but I feel like it's a bit tacky. Most of my tanning I do indoor (which I know is unhealthy) but my skin holds a tan very well so I only visit maybe twice a month.

It really depends too on your club... At mine everyone has the same fake everything so the staff and the girls will hassle you about, "Why don't you do this, it's more feminine."
I'd tell anyone though do what makes you feel pretty. Screw what's the norm or what other people like.

good luck with finding a good self tanner, it always seems like when one product seems to be good for one girl it's horrible for the other. As for nails, I also do not want to go to the salon every few weeks to get my nails done so I buy the kind at the drug store that you glue on, I've had many compliments from guys about them so obviously they're just as good as salon ones.

If you do decide to buy the kind at the drug store, be sure to get the ones that you glue on yourself, NOT the ones that already have glue on them (press-on)..the glue on ones last about 1-2 weeks if you buff your nails beforehand, just make sure not to over-buff them as it may hurt your natural nails.

there are vitamins+minerals that will make your nails stronger. much stronger! i used to have your same problem, couldn't grow my nails cause they would break etc and those pills really do wonders, my nails are super long now, people ask if they're fake

and i know a bunch of girls who go to the tanning salon and keep their g-string on to have the tan lines... they're definitely hot

I just started using BROADWAY nails. I really like them. They look very good and are so easy to put on. Plus when they do come off it doesn't ruin my natural nail and it doesn't hurt. I would never go back to acrylic. TRY THESE.

There are a few girls here I work with VERY bright tan lines. They tan a ton with their bikini on and their tits glow. I think it looks gross when they're THAT tan. I AM a tan line, personally. I bleach my skin to stay pale in Florida...

I take those as well and they work great. I always get complimented on my nails.

    As for tanning, I don't do it. I don't want to look 70 when I'm 40.

I've been thinking about starting to tan... maybe like 3 times a week to build it up, and twice a month after that.... would that be enough to stay tan?

I'm getting pale to teh point where doctors keep testing me for anemia or thyroid conditions, but there is nothing wrong.... I've just used sunscreen EVERYDAY for the last 4 years, and really didn't even get out much these past two summers....... I'm getting sick of the hassel of puting on fake tanners, because I have to do it every night since I do the whole dry body brush for cellulite thing, and it rubs the tan right off.

Gel nails sound cool, what is teh upkeep for those? Once a month? Every two weeks? Do they look real, and if not is there a kind that does?

Excessive tanning can really damage your skin, in some cases: at my 10 year high school reunion, I saw someone I hadn't seen for the ten years... someone who really likes to tan. While she was still great-looking, she looked 5-10 years older than just about everyone else at the reunion. Scary. It may also be partly alcohol related (she really likes partying, though I don't think she's an alcoholic). Whatever it was, I read it as an advertisement for a "healthy" lifestyle.

Just me two cents. Self-tanning and other similar products are probably a safer way to get the effect (though maybe not the tan lines!).

"Tantoos" :-) Thanks for the new word dani... I've wondered about applying stickers to selectively block the sun (yeah, I tan sometimes anyway) to get cool patterns... now I have a new word for them, too :-). A tan takes about two months to totally go away on my skin, so I think it could be an interesting medium-term effect. Anyone else tried tantooing?
