    Default Hiya!

Hey! I've been going on these forums and reading some posts for some time now but I never post anything hehe. I just wanted to introduce myself and say hi, etc. Well... I've worked at a club in Melbourne for about 3 months when I just turned 18. I've had a break for a few months now but I want to get back into it now. It's great money and kinda fun and all but a bit depressing sometimes when I'm surrounded by all these georgous girls though - it makes me feel so average! . Does anyone else feel that way? Are there many other strippers who also like video games / computer science or use Gentoo? lol. I wonder if people reply

I'm a customer and a fellow newbie who came on here just to post a few questions, but when I read your post I couldnt resist replying. I used Gentoo for a bit (emerge rocks), but now I use Ubutnu and it's awesome! I highly recommend it. and yes of course i love VGs and CS. That would be cool if other strippers are into the same things, but I think you're kind of unique! and i'm sure you're just as hot as the other girls at your club so don't worry and just be confident and have fun.

Hehe. I *tried* Kubuntu (For whatever reason I prefer KDE over Gnome - which is the default DE in Ubuntu) and it just didn't quite do it for me, lol. I found it "hard to use" in contrast to Gentoo (which is straight forward and highly configurable). Also I think that Gentoo has better support for gaming. My second OS of choice would probably be Slackware and all the Unixes (which don't have good support for gaming) hehe. Debian is supposedly pretty good too but I've never actaully got around to trying it out O_o;; I heard it was slightly more n00b than Gentoo and Slackware. Anyway! ^__^ It's relatively hard to pretend to be all "fun" and "confident" when you're someone who spent 90% of their life in front of the computer screen but I'm coping somehow!

I use gnome with this window manager called compiz (you can also get it working in kde). You need 3d acceleration for it to run reasaonably but it's alot of fun. It has some of the cool 3d features of mac osx but it's basically out of control. fun.

I've never used slackware, but I used debian for a while. Ubuntu forked off of it, so its very similar... ubuntu is just more polished. I also used RH/fedora for a while, but again i really like ubuntu the best.

For gaming I dual boot windows... there's really no way around it.

Do you program too? I live in the SF Bay area as a SW developer and you can earn great money out here. And hot chick programmers are always in extremely high demand (beacuse there arent any). although you prolly need a college degree first.

Ahh! All this GUI talk makes me dizzy! I really just prefer the CLI - At least I know what's happening O_o;; What's up with all the SW developers preferring "n00b" distros or Windows anyway? I've done some basic programming and I'm working towards getting a Diploma. Well... not yet... but when I'm slightly less lazy and slightly more motivated. *watches futurama and drinks beer all day* I've always wondered what it would be like to be a "hawt chick programmer", LOL. I sometimes think that I'd be too shy to ask for a job IRL so I'm thinking of just starting a business of some sort so I can just sit at home.

For gaming I can get all the roms and wc3 to run on Gentoo but if I wanted something like battlefield 2 installed, then yea, dual b00t. But I heard WoW runs fine - so a lot of people are set for life, lol. I use a laptop which works great for whatever it is I do on it but not really for hardcore gaming, lol, but as soon as I return to dancing and move out I'm soo gonna buy a desktop optimized for gaming - and yea, dual boot with WindowsXP or whatever. As much as it's a big, badly-written, clogged up chunk of spyware with viruses and 5c1p7 k1dd13z support enabled by default... I guess installing games on it is still relatively very simple. Although I might end up wasting more of my time on Wii when it comes out, so yaye! XD

It depends on the coder what dev environment they want. Some people are happy with emacs while others want full graphical IDEs, which can make coding and debuging much easier. You'll dance naked in a club but youwon't ask for a job?? now i'm confused . What kind of club do you work at? Anyway, get your CS degree and you'll be able to rake it in and have alot of fun too.

Yeah i just built a cool gaming pc. I put in an ATI x1900xt gfx card. wii looks awesome. xbox live is really cool tho so they have their work cut out for them.

Haha, yea... well... I like dancing around nekked XD I'm still shy until I have a drink - but that's not exactly wise when going for a job interview I'm sure if I tried, I could get almost any job I want though. Yes, nothing is more fun than CS All of my friends love their jobs. ^_^
