Default Sick of hearing "You have so much more $$$", etc.

I'm so sick of hearing from customers "You guys have so much money, I know you're driving out of here in your $80,000 Mercedes and going home to your mansion home". I'm so sick of customers saying that and assuming just because we're dancers that we're rick. What f!cking ever!!!! Last night I went up to the cigarette machine at the club and there was this guy standing and he said "wow, look at how much money you have, its more than me" I said, yeah, more than half of this money is dollar bills. I wonder if that's why they're so cheap is because they think that because we're stippers that we're rich! Grrrrr!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know! Argh! I hate that too!

I went on off on one of those guys once... he goes, "Why should I tip you? You make tons of money already without me." I snapped, "Actually, I don't, because cheap losers like you keep coming in here." But usually I don't want to give them that kind of satisfaction.

I was having this talk with a girl last night. We have decided its because of all those damn girls that lie saying 'oh I make $1500 a night' etc.. its those girls that have ruined it for us. One guy last night was like 'oh I would love to get more dances but im broke, besides you make $1000 a night +. ' I was like 'yea thats why im sitting on your lap naked begging for more dances'

I carry my money in a purse, so I can usually hide the ones, but I also get the same response of wow, that's so much. I firmly let the guys know that's it's only ones. I even had a guy try to cheat out of a hundred one time, I usually get the money up front, but I knew he had it so wasn't worried. I emptied my purse out and he saw only ones and had to agree that he hadn't paid me.. thankfully it was a nude dance so I couldn't hide it anywhere, ha ha
Please don't lick me, it tickles..

maybe say something like like "So you don't buy gas because oil companies had the highest corporate profits in all of history this year? Those oil companies make a lot more money than any stripper on the planet. Maybe stop buying gas and spend more money at strip clubs."

The comment of "Oh, you girls make SOOOOO much money" isn't a new one, it is just a variation of "No thanks" or possibily an opener to negotition.

A quickie response would be "Yep, I make a lot of money because I'm worth it. I'm the best dancer here. Would you like to treat yourself to the best lap dance west of the Rockies?"

You may get a dance out of him just because he is curious about what makes you so special. Since you already told him how good it is, just about anything you do after that is going to seem great to him because that is what he is expecting.

Promote yourself and earn more money! This is a business that is owned by strippers for strippers. Let's make that money!

Yes I agree, it's so annoying when guys do this! Guys that say "Well, you make like $300,000/yr." YEAH RITE!! Even someone who makes $1000/shift at 4 shifts/week, would only make $200,000/yr if she works consistently through the year with no prolonged time off from work. Personally I think it is a guy's excuse to be cheap, or as Paris mentioned, to see if we're open for negotiating and explaining what makes us so special.

A similar situation occured to me OTC. Four years ago when I was travelling to different countries, it was very fucking annoying when guys in countries less rich than America, such as Fiji island, would ASSume that because I was some little American girl, that I was "rich." When in fact I was getting ZERO support from parents, no help at all from financial aide or government, and couldn't get a small student loan beyond 2 tiny Stafford loans to save my life. This was before I was a dancer, and was working at stupid places like Wawa or grocery stores...I made like $7/hr, and was lucky to make $4000/yr and that was when I worked enough hours to detrimentally interfere with my studies. Trust me when I say that I have major money problems and difficulties finding permanent, stable employment thta paid more than min wage...that is what got me into dancing. This Fijian asshole was about my age, worked a full-time skilled labor job, didn't have college expenses, and I bet that even with the lower costs of living in Fiji, *he* made more money than *I* did! Yet when I asked him what kinds of restaurants were around town and what the prices were like, he'd never say anything helpful, just "they're cheap, cheap" as if ANYTHING would be cheap for me Little Miss American?? Sorry, just had to vent.

I don't know why they assume such sh!t. Do they see me at the tee? Do I live in their neighborhood?

Usually the guys who say that don't have money and live with their parents at 36. Call them out. It's fun when you do.

If I'd had a dollar for everytime that's happened to me (only danced for about 3 years, but still...), heh, I would probably be driving that Mercedes and living in that mansion!

I hate that from custys, but I hate it even more from people I know, like my friends who want to borrow money. A week or two ago, I was fired from my club. My friend asked me to borrow $200 a few days later once she found out that I got my job back. She knows what my financial situation is like (not good), but she said to me, "Well, you'll make it back tonight so the money's not a big deal to you."

Why do people make that assumption? And even if I will make it back tonight, that doesn't mean that I don't need the money I've already made... if I didn't need it, why would I b working? In the end, I only lent her $100.

Oh my god, I really sympathize with you. My friends do the same thing and never offer to throw in money for whatever I purchase, but if they even stop and get a drink for me or a pack of gum or anything I have to pay them back. My friend, who also dances, borrowed $100 from me about 3-4 months ago. She was supposed to pay it back to me the next night after work, but she never went and has never paid me back. I saw her IN VEGAS ON VACATION with new clothes and new hair highlights, but apparently you know all of those things are less than $100. uggh.

The best part is that she blames not being able to pay me back on me. Its my fault!! bc I won't go to work with her and she got fired from my club for being too heavy. I'm not going to give up my club with great money and my regulars to go make $100-200 at some shithole with her, bc she doesn't want to go by herself. I've been working by myself for 2 years. UGGHH
haha I hate this so much.

I find that most guys assume the club pays us to work there and that their tips don't really matter. Ignorant dumbasses...

I think the general view of custys/friends/family even other halves is that we make squillions every nite, they dont understand the comission that has to be paid or the begging for dances or the sickening smelly ones that we know have cash but still balk while dancing for them, we earn every cent ladies and I for one am going to start putting my foot down. How many times do they have to dance naked infront of a stranger with bad breath, body odour and a severe drool problem to get $10 plus tip if they can even find their pocket in their drunken state?!? (by the way im not generalising custys, just making a point)

Actually, redvelvet, when I first started dancing back in the 80s, it was the way. But, back on topic, I agree with what another lady previously said about idiot girls bragging about making some ridiculous figure that they probably had to do extras to get anyways. Everybody has to work for their money no matter what they do. I recall hearing about one dancer from a television show on strippers about 7 years ago that reportedly made almost $250,000 a year. BUT, she was a feature dancer at one of the best, classiest clubs in the country. Who knows if she's even around anymore.
