    Default spider bite, i think

I got bit a few days ago from what i think is a spider. it looked like a pimple at first, then i was messing with it and a day later it started to swell a little, well last night i pulled the scab off and pushed the puss out of it. it is now bigger and a little more swollen. My bf had one on the corner of his lip, took him to the er and they picked the scab and pushed the puss out and perscribed him cephalexin. Well 3 weeks later he got one on his arm. another bite like the one from his lip, so instead of taking him to the dr, we did what they did last time, fucked with the scab etc.. now i have one. i think it's a spider bite. i don't want to go to the er though because i don't like to get shots. has anyone had a similar thing happen, and what did you do? wait it out?do you know what it is?

Yea sounds like a spider bite. I once got 4 big ass bites on my leg at the same time. I agree call an exterminator or put some powder down.

Call an exterminator, definitely. And look online to see if you can find out what kind of spider it is.

My mom is a nurse and she always says that if you get a spider bite, you should get a pen ASAP and draw a circle on the outside edge of the bite. That way, if it swells, you can see how much and how quickly. Too much swelling too fast is a sign of a poisonous bite and you should call the doctor in that case.

is this "spider season"??? I got one on my arm a week ago too... it sucks.. don't mess with it.. let it heal on its own... it will just get worse and more swollen then it already is..

I looked online and the only spiders they called out on was the trantula, and brown recluse. I guess those must be the most dangerous.

Well, a tarantula is pretty easy to spot. I don't know what part of the country you're in, but brown recluses are a problem back where I come from, and if you're ever bitten by one then you need to get the ER immediately. There are other poisonous spiders that would necessitate medical treatment... we have black widows around here and you want to watch out for them.

People are often bitten by spiders in their sleep. The spider crawls over them, tickling them, and the sleeping victim swats carelessly to stop the tickling, and the spider bites in self-defense. So they might be in your nice comfy bed with you at night.

    Definitely call an exterminator.
