    Default Auditioning/apply ALONE.

How many of you got into dancing, alone? I don't know why I just can't go up to a strip club and ask to work there.. My best friend and I been working together..and I'm about ready to adventure off to another club, but it just seems so weird to go alone..

Its weird because I can ask to apply at a store in the mall..but something about SC, i just lose all the confidence... I know that ya gotta have a backbone in this business bc of rejections n all that but goodness..hah

...dont go with a friend. No no. Imagine going to a regular retail job interview..and bringing your friend with you...that would be weird, yes? Dont do it to be a stripper either...if anything it will just hurt your chances.

i walked into my first club with a bag of clothes ready to go, by myself, got hired, and was on the stage 15 minutes later. i was scared to death, but i figured if i was going to do it i needed to just -DO IT-. when you go to new clubs, don't be scared. if the place sucks and you don't want to work there, it's no big deal. even if you don't get hired it's no big deal. think of it this way, you know how many girls come in and out of clubs every day looking for a job? it's not like they'll even remember you if you don't wind up working there. if you -do- start working at a new place, just lay low for awhile and focus on yourself. i have a similar problem with wanting to switch clubs. i want to try and leave my club again (ive been there for a year) but i'm so used to being one of the "crew" at my club. i know a year isnt a long time at a regular job, but it can be ages at one strip club because of the normal turn over. there's only one girl who's been there longer than me. i'm not stuck up about it, but i like knowing everyone, my regulars, that i already have a relationship with my djs/bouncers/bartenders/managers. i'm so scared ot be the "new girl" again. lol

I hate applying to a club alone! It's so funy how after a few weeks I can get so comfortable at one place I'm scared to go anwhere else!

I've only been at my second club a little over a month and while everyone doesn't speak to me they all know me and I don't have any problems- I know what to expect. I'm going out of town for a few days and what to dance in that city and I'm sick to my stomach about going in

I didn't have any problem applying to other places with my friend- everywhere we went both of us were hired- but I gues other dancers have had problems.

i've auditioned to be a gogo dancer and a stripper. went to both alone and got both jobs. it is a little intimidating, but, once it's done, it's done. the scary part doesn't last too long and you'll feel So much better once you've done it.

i've noticed that girls who get hired with their friends tend to spend most of their time hanging out with their friends instead of working anyway.

just make the commitment to do it and follow through - you'll be great

    good luck!

I think that simply having the nerve to go in alone is an important part of the hiring process. You have to demonstrate that you can handle this. I think you'll find it anticlimactic once you've gotten it out of the way, as in: "hey, that wasn't so bad after all!" I was terrified the first time, too, but it's totally worth it to take the plunge if you're sure you want to do this.

My advice is to do plenty of research here first, and visit clubs, as you're already doing. And yes, being the new girl has its challenges - bear in mind that (as others have said) the high turnover means that you'll be largely ignored at first, which is both good and bad. The main thing is to not take it personally.

Good luck! Let us know how it goes!

yea i must second that bit about having the nerve to go in alone, and i feel it shows independence. I only once went to audition with someone else and didn't get hired but I have followed my best friend to two clubs, all in good faith however, as I am much happier now at this club. But i think that coming in in pairs is a very stripper thing to do, you wouldn't go in to a "normal" job with a buddy. *you can doo eeet!*

    Love it!
