Default curling iron + face = help!

I burned my face with a curling iron! Derrrr. Now I have a big brown spot under the right corner of my eye...What can I do to keep this mess from scarring? It didn't bleed, or even hurt that bad. It just turned red then brown. It feels kind of dry. Help!

Put petroleum jelly on it, or even better, Neosporin or Carmex. Keep it covered if it bleeds. I did this when I was 12 and there's no scar.

I've burned myself a few times, didn't put anything on it because it was right on my hairline, but no scar appeared.

I burned the back of my finger on my curling iron about three or four months ago, and I still have a dark brown scar. I don't know if it will ever go away or not. But it was an exceptionally bad burn... maybe yours will. Good luck.

Keep it moist- petroleum jelly or neosporin.

A home remedy to speed healing is to mix an iodine-based cleanser (like Betadine) with sugar (table sugar) and petroleum jelly. Slather on the wound a few times per day. The iodine/sugar mix starves any bacteria, and the petroleum jelly speeds healing.

Also, drink comfrey root tea, if you can find comfrey root.

I burned my neck. I didn't put anything on it and it eventually went away with no scar - but it took almost 7 or 8 months.

Neosporin or Polysporin and keep it covered with a band-aid or something when possible. The more it scabs over, the more prominent and longer lasting the scar will be.

ive actualy reserched this quite a bit and there was recently a study done at an american university, (if you google raw honey +burn treatments or somthing smilare you can find it)(not some bogus industry sponserd study) that compaired the use of traditional hopital treatment for burns with the use of raw honey, and raw honey was more effective at preventing and treating inffection and also at speeding up healing time.

there were a few stated reasons for this, one honey draws moisture into itself, also it never goes bad so there ia an antiseptic quality to, and i think it said it forms hydrogin peroxide when it combines with the wound. also it has alot of nutreints in it.

i used it for a giant flat iron burn and it worked great, no scar at all. i just used a thin layer on the burn a couple times a day then stuck a bandaid over so my hair didnt stick to my head.

(my spell check is broken, and im sleepy, sorry)
