I'm confused.. what exactly is he asking?
I have a portfolio, or should I say had.. I change my look so frequently that it's not worth trying to keep up with photos, they just won't look like the present me.
I have worked with photographers before, amatuer and professional. Amateurs liked to use me as a practice, I received free photos so I was happy.. Most turned out amazing, many were so so, and a few just made me look fat or my nose looked big, haha
prcatice makes perfect and like everyone said, we put up pics on this site for the fun of it.
Please don't lick me, it tickles..

Now, I have actually been hired off the internet because I wrote the owner of the club, this was a rare thing, but I didn't want to do an audition and wanted to know ahead of time if he would hire me. He did and I have never had to send me pic out again.
I can understand if we wanted to do features or as I did, wanted to find out whether or not they would hire us, then a portfolio would be handy, but unless we really get into modeling, any type of modeling, we don't need pics of ourselve.
Please don't lick me, it tickles..

Thanks Gypsy & Yekhefah for your replies...those are the kind of answers that I am looking for. Not ones like Mercedes wrote....just a waste of time as far as I'm concerned. Another "creep" remark..how nice.

    Cheers,

in my opinion, i woudnt advertise for dancers. theres no need at all for a dancer to have a portfolio to get hired at a club. advertising your photography for a dancing portfolio? i think it would be a waste of your time. u should go to a modeling website rather then an exotic dancer one.

Thanks Lucky...and the others that actually responded to the question posted. I was trying to see if there was a market for photo services in the dancer community. I am already a member of several other sites (OMP, ModelMayhem,Musecube, etc.) where i get most of my work from. To the others that just posted unprovoked nasty comments...get a life and learn to smile a bit. The world is not out to bite you...unless you like that. I am done with this thread and appreciate the value of this site. Thanks again....

    Cheers,

Your OP does sound rather pervish. Stream of consciousness isn't the best way to post your thoughts on a message board.

Perhaps they weren't unprovoked. Another way to look at it is, get a flavor for your intended market before you decide how you wish to approach it. It could be something as easy as a search for similar threads to see how they were accepted in the past.

In the second 2 photos... the first one the highlight and center of interest is the extremely hot spot light on the background - in the second one the highlight and COI is on the foot, ankle, bottom of dress - neither is a flattering image to your subject for any application that I can think of.

the deal with portfolio shoots is that everyone says they are good at them, and the results will get them work... and a lot of naive gals with no money in LA will pay a guy $500 to give them run of the mill junk - I agree with previous posts that most dancers audition in person and only in persona and a golden portfolio will do them no good -- I also know adult entertainers that get booking from the web, are features hired sometimes site unseen or by reputation, and of course have their own fan websites demand great, natural photos -- when I photograph beginners (many of whom have been taken by people who act like pros) and I don't have a client paying the model -- meaning the model is paying me and owns all photos(a good hint - a pro photographer gets paid by the client, or for portfolio work byt the model, pros do not work for free or TFP) -- I charge nothing up front, I pay for make-up, they bring outfits --- after I have retouched I send them proofs... they pay if they want to own them and if not we say so long and I am out make-up artist (and I hire someone qualified and not cheap or free) and my studio or location time -- either way I invest money up front. The thing is they always want the pictures

In terms of getting a great photo session and someone who really stands behind their work and expects to work to get paid - there is a big devide between someone who gets into photography to be around hot women and someone who took classes from six years old and photographs everything - if I am being paid to work I get as big a thrill out of making architecture look good as I do making a women look good - I get clients from other clients and because of my work - some of the websites like MZCB OMPLC etc are full of guys looking to meet hot women - not photographers - there are no real paying clients (ad agencies, major companies) looking for models on these sites -- its is people jacking each other off who are not working photogs or models, but willing to pay their own money to be near the glitz and glitter
