    Default Shoes... yes, more shoes.

We are never done talking about shoes. There should be a shoe icon we can put next to these topics. I'm looking for sho-ey opinions. My feet hurt BAD right now (as does pretty much everything else on the lower half of my body) and I need a more comfortable shoe.

Are these TOO comfortable? I think they're cute, but not very sexy. But to me, right now, they look as comfortable as sneakers.

I have a wishlist at howcool to keep track of all the shoes I like; I won't order from them though because they take FOREVER to ship. So I would print a picture and run around to shoe vendors holding it out, and grasping their wrists, gasping out "do you have, or can you get these shoes?"

I have a similar pair, but mine are Mary Janes and the heel is 6". I love them and wear them a lot - yesterday I even wore them to interview for a teaching job. For heels, they're quite comfortable.

Snaz75.com carries a pretty good selection of 5" platforms. I find these to be quite comfortable.

They have a much more reasonable processing time. I might consider online buying after all.

Jenny there are a few girls at WAGG and BR who wear those and they swear they are the most comfy pair(the ones you posted, not Susans). Anything with the thick heel is more comfortable. You may also want to consider boots and you can put insoles in them. Also check out that 'dancer shoes' store on Yonge they have a huge variety of comfy shoes.

I need to go boot shopping...

    hey, we can go together.

I'm trying to keep costs down, as I will not be dancing much for much longer. But I can't just keep the shoes I have - I'm dying. Seduction has nothing I want (excpet a skirt I have my eyes on, but no shoes), and Kleen Air is always closed when I get there.

Anything with a slighly thicker heel will be comfy. My fav's are a 7 inch platform by Playboy, the heel flares a little at the bottom, not like the cones, this isn't that noticable, but makes a huge difference. I wear them when my feet can't take the spike heels anymore, unfortunately I only have them in black, so I can't wear them all the time.

Jenny, you hit the nail on the head when you said you didn't think they are very sexy. IMO, any heel wider than a spike just isn't feminine. I would try to either find that style with a pointy heel (not even a cone heel) or go with a lower platform shoe. I have seen some pretty sexy and feminine mary janes, and shorter platforms on the girls I work with.

I dont see any problem with the thick heel. As long as you wear something to go with it. I refuse to wear spikes on stage, I always wear clunky heels, its more comfortable and more support. I dont see the point in killing your ankles and back when you can wear the thick heel and still accent your legs/ass nicely.

I prefer spike heels myself - I like the lines. But I need a higher platform, and lower slope and something that I can walk in - I already have high arches, bunions, hammer toes and I'm developing a tailor's bunion, and I have a weird deformity across the top of my foot that prevents me from comfortably wearing slip on shoes (like I need heel support; a clog won't work). Every night I have to ice my knees and hips (probably I could just take some vitamins that would help). Like, I'm hurting, bad. I found another pair I liked on Susan's site though; I might consider both.

You really should go for ankle boots Jenny, im sure we can find you a pair that isnt too expencive. It would be worth it for the support plus the insoles you can put in.

I was thinking about thigh highs too, (to cover my disgusting knees), but they are just so expensive, and as I said, I'm trying to keep my investments to a minimum at this point. Do ankle boots make your legs look short? I'm medium in the leg department, so I can't really afford to lose a lot of leg.

Ooh Jenny, those are hot! (my 36 yr old strip club dj bf thinks so too ) I've seen some like that with little pink heart cutouts somewhere too, but I'm too doped up right now after having oral surgery to find them.

And my goodness! Your poor feet, I had no idea it was that bad. I'm feeling pretty fortunate after 14 years to just have to maintain the calluses.

The ankle boots cally suggested might be an option too. I was actually looking at the clear ankle boots to wear over my brightly colored knee-highs etc. But without a zipper on the side, I was thinking those elastic shoelaces might work for faster removal etc.

Sooo so so many girls I dance with wear ankle boots...with every outfit, gown to bikini. I'm very used to seeing them, but they don't look bad to me at all, no matter what the girl's height may be.

Update - I borrowed a pair of shoes with the 5 inch big heel and tall platform. It was AWESOME. I still don't think they look as sexy, but it was so easy on my feet and legs, comparatively. I'm not sure if it is because of the big heel, or the low slope of the shoe (only 2.5 inches), or both but I really felt like a freaking rock star on the stage that night, and I didn't need to either medicate or ice when I got home or the next day.

I've had a few pairs similar to those over the years... they're comfy once broken in... at first, the back would cut up my heel/ankle a lil bit if I wore anything thin like stockings.... but that didnt last long.

I'd personally wear them! I think they are great!
