yes yes yes
I have had to deal with it many times, the guy's girl doesn't like me so he doesn't.. Or she is jealous that I miggt be after him (ha ha) so he can't do his job properly.. I am honestly not against dating in the club, BUT it shouldn't affect your ability to do your job correctly..
I have seen it work out great and result in a great marriage or lasting relationship, but VERY rarely.
I think the worst is when managers or DJs pimp out their girls and let custies know that their girls give the best dances or go the extra mile..
ugh, I don't think I could stand my boyfriend telling me he wouldlook the other way if I wanted to do extra.. creepy.
Please don't lick me, it tickles..
I think it's a bad idea. If I were to date anyone who worked at my club, I'd totally keep it secret. It's just like any other workplace relationship to me. And it'll definitely affect everyone else because it's like this DJ/manager/whatever has an obligation to make his girl some money so he'll advertise for her more than anyone else and let her get away with stuff that others can't.
theres only so long you can keep it a secret though...Originally Posted by danceoverload
I've more had it the other way around; girls get mad when their guys are sweet to you (and I've never dated anyone I've worked with; it's not a valid jealousy thing, just staff members looking after you a little carefully).

YEah, one of the DJ's was sleeping with a dancer that had had a problem with me so he started messing up my stage set. Also she would freak out if anyone talked to her "boyfriend" for more than like 2 sentences. A few months before she was also sleeping with a bouncer and using that to get girls she didn't like in trouble (by having the bouncer accuse them of doing extras). My club has a no-fraternizing rule, unfortunately it's not enforeced as often as it should.

The old "do not shit where you eat" saying applies very much. I've learnt my lesson in re: dating co-workers when I was "young" in this business (as in experience not necessarily age). I havn't really seen it work out for the best.... either for the couple themselves or other co-workers.
