Default New to NYC and confused ...

I'll be attending the NYU School of the Arts in the Fall and need to make ALOT of money for tuition. I'm nervous about stripping because I'm afraid guys from school might see me. I thought about being an escort but don't want to deal with being alone with guys who get overly aggresive. WILL NOT DO SEX FOR MONEY!!!

Anyway, if anyone has a few wise words, it would be most appreciated. I'm completely new to all of this!

Oh, lara, you are the cutest thing! I hope you realize escorting is NOT escorting, it's a euphemism for prostitution. Oh, I remember being your age and thinking it was and getting a big ol' SLAP from my friends. I'd recommend working outside Manhattan. Try a Westchester, Queens, Long Island or Jersey club. Check out the Club Chat threads and Xtreme magazine www.dancerdolls.com www.stripclublist and www.xtrememagazine.com for locations. Good luck sweetie!

Thumbs up Re: New to NYC and confused ...

God I thought my mother would never go to bed!

Anyway, thank you so much eveyone for responding! What a great community!

I'm not going to have a car for NJ and my mother works in Westchester (live in CT) so I guess that leaves Long Island and Queens. Any specific clubs that you would recommend? And not to get into my family financial woes, but I need to make about $25,000 between early Sept. and early Dec. Is it possible to do that working only a couple of DAYS a week?

I have to confess, I kind of thought that the escorting might require some prostitution, but I was hoping that 'Outcall' vs. 'Incall' was like, 'Outdoor Recreation' vs. 'Indoor Recreation' ...

Anyway, so much for my fantasy of having rich Wall Street guys take me out to the Ballet, Opera and finest restaurants in NYC just because I'm a good conversationalist!

Nah...she's just saying that in her case, since she'll be going to NYU, if she's scared of someone seeing her, she may be better off dancing outside of the city. I recommend the same thing too as the city has a LOTTTT of NYU students (I think that school has a HUGE student population, cuz I'm always running into kids from there.)

Just be aware that a lot of clubs outside of the Manhattan will be high contact. If you've never danced before, this could be really difficult to deal with. Take care.

Absolutely BrainyDancerGirl!! I'm not sure if you've been to the main campus. When you see how friggin' BIG it is and how many buildings they have throughout Manhattan you'll know why we're advising you to work off the island. There's thousands of NYU folks--students and teachers and administration. Consider the night jobs all of the students can hold (most likely) in Manhattan. You can count on running into them everywhere!

For Genesia: I'd advise checking the links in my first post and doing a search on each within Manhattan. As long as you find an affordable home and a club you'll be comfortable in you'll be great! Different clubs have different costume requirements, different kinds of customers. Just do your research and come with enough extra money to get through at least two weeks without working so you have a chance to change clubs if necessary.

Its been a while since I danced on Long Island... but Gentlemen's Quarters was a farly good go go bar (bikini) in Baldwin... not too far from Queens. Cafe Royale rocks but thats farther in... If High Heels in Queens is still open, that's a nice one in Queens.

Thanks for the advice (and the links..very helpful!!) I am in NC, but my management group will be taking me up to NYC to dance every other weekend. Have you ever been to Hustler Club in NYC? ..and yes, i am stupid.. ...but what kind of "outfit requirements" are we talking about??

    Thank you Paige!

I looked at all three of them and discovered the SCL (Strip Club List). Wow, what a great site for customers huh ... ever thought posting like a really amazing review about yourself ... as guy maybe! Some of them were kind of nasty!

Anyway, Brainy mentioned that a girl should expect 'high contact' when she works outside Manhattan. Can you help with exactly what that means? I'm okay dancing on a guy’s lap and expect to have to manage his hands and all, but where's the line drawn? I would really hate to have to kiss these guys or get into any fondling etc.

If you don't mind, could you maybe confirm what high contacts vs. low contact actually means ... and which clubs should I be careful of???

Not if the OP gets hired at PEC! Then none of her classmates will be able to afford to go to where she works!

I have never worked or been to a club in NY (state or city) where the customers could touch you. At all. You do all the work. But I havent been to every club so... heh.

High contact vs low contact as i understand it:
high would mean a lot of grinding while giving a lapdance -- grinding being rubbing your ass on his crotch of his pants, or crotch (of your gstring) to crotch (of his pants time)-- and often has extras or guys who come in KNOWING they can probably get a high contact dance and maybe even get off in their pants.

Medium contact is light on grinding, more with sexual overtones such as the touching of oneself, eye contact, touching his leg and brushing his crotch with your knee, stuff like that.

Low contact is minimal grinding if at all (usually much more seen in the air-dance type clubs which I don't *think* make all that much money but I am in philly and not nyc and i believe it varies from city to city.) maybe dancing over him, etc.

hope that helps! feel free to write us for more terms you may not yet know, and it's good you are starting here with this website so you don't have to go through some of the difficulty of not knowing how to handle situations or even make the best out of a monetary sit. and $25k in that time may be doable, but i advise you to USE the hustling tips in the Hustle Hut, and do a search on "Whale". Read especially what top earners are saying, older dancers know best from experience and never ever think you can do it OTC (outside of the club) with any guy who tries to convince you of anything.

Wish i had found stripper web when i started dancing almost 7 years ago. but young grasshopper I have learned much wisdom in my years. lol.

    Love it!

Let me know how it all goes, I'm curious as to how the old stomping grounds are these days!
