Why even go to the club?

This is going to sound like a rant, but I'm seriously ASKING. We keep getting guys who come into the club and sit as far away from the stage as possible (this is a stage-heavy club and it's very small, so that's not very far, but you can tell they're making an effort to be far away). They sit there, often alone or with each other, completely silent, arms folded. They don't talk to each other much, they don't want to talk to dancers, they don't tip, and they don't buy dances. Most of the time they don't even watch the dancers, they just sit there with this bored, bitchy expression. If I try and cheer them up, they just roll their eyes and ignore me.

We get some guys like this every night. Why? What is going through their minds? Why come into the club and pay $10 to get in and another $10 for two little cups of soda if you're just going to sit there? Can't you sit at home and stare at the floor for free?

Almost everything about your description suggests that the $20 they spent was all they had and they're trying their best not to be noticed.

However, the part about not watching the dancers defies explanation! Are you sure they're not watching the dancers? I'd bet they are in fact watching. They just don't want anyone to know it, as this would attract attention and force them into an uncomfortable situation because of the $$ they don't have.

If they are in fact not watching, then I have no idea what they're thinking. Maybe something's wrong upstairs!

glad you brought this up.. I am confused about this to. I have never understood the point of coming into a club and not having fun. It's supposed to be entertainment! Why come in if you don't want to be entertained? Hey, at least the guys sit AWAY from the stage. The ones that sit right by it and do watch and don't tip anyone really piss me off. There are only so many choice spots and being close and not tipping doesn't help me when I am trying to get guys farther away from you to come on down.
Argh!!!! If I were to visit a club you bet I would be having a blast.

Yeah, I hate that "let's sit at the tiprail and not watch the dancer" game, too. Hello, if you're not interested in naked girls, why come to the strip club? West Hollywood isn't too far away if you'd rather hang with other guys!

MAn, I wish more gay guys would come in. They don't get a ton of dances, but they tip well and really really seem to enjoy the show. I just want to hug and kiss them.

I had a gay celebrity come in last night (a B-lister, no one really special, but a recognizable face). He wasn't in the club for long but he told me repeatedly that I was just SO BEAUTIFUL. I was just sitting there thinking, "Dude, just stop. EVERYBODY knows you're gay so quit trying to hide it." He was in the club for maybe two minutes.

I wouldn't recognize Clay Aiken if he came on me. I know his name, but I don't have a TV and I don't keep up with reality shows, so I would have no idea what he looks like. Although last night was just bizarre anyway... I had a supporting star on a children's TV show come in his pants during a very clean lapdance. He was so embarrassed. I kinda felt sorry for the little geek. My baby brother (age 11) watches his show religiously and now whenever he mentions it I'm going to think about that little guy blushing and going, "Oh gee. This is so embarassing."

Last night was such a weird night. It was one thing after another, I swear. I made okay money, about $350 and it was pretty slow, but I feel like I walked out of there with an additional $200 worth of stories.

Anyway, back to the thread topic, I wish I could figure out what was up with the guys who apparently come to our club for the $10 fountain soda and tasteful carpeting. I guess the floor really is just that interesting to them.

Our floor has glowing moons on it.. Neon yellow, WOW..
Sometimes, I just want to walk up to them and flash them and walk away, but we aren't allowed to do that anymore.. grrrr. We can't even slap each other's heines anymore either. Jealous bastards ruined it for the rest of us. So we molest each other in private.

I am so glad that my club isn't the only club where guys just come to to "hang out". I have often asked them "if you aren't interested in the dancers.... why are you here? There is a regular bar right down the street where there is no cover, the beer is 3.00 instead of 5.00, and the same game is on the TV."........Funny they never have a good excuse for coming in the club instead of going down there. Never understood it probley never will.

Maybe they want to be able to say they were somewhere "cool" when asked what they did that day?

Sounds like they just hate life, plain and simple. Why do they choose to hate it in a SC? Maybe the proximity of beautiful women they can't have increases their bitterness, so they can wallow in their unhappiness and self-pity all that much more.

i dance for gay guys alot, they openly admit it and usually are with a party or something. They tell me that I'm beautiful too and even though they are gay, they are up for the entertainment.

As far as the custys you are talking about, I ran into an ass recently. He was just as you described and I see him pretty often, but I have neve approached him b/c he's always scowling. I decided to I was gonna try to talk to him, I walked up and introduced myself with a smile and asked what his name was. He said " I didn't wanna meet you anyways why do you wanna know my name?" He said this so rude and loud, it was really embarrasing. I replied" I just wanted to say hi" (still keeping my composure). And he, even louder than before said " I can't even sit here without a bitch like you annoying me!"
I wanted to cry, but instead I told him to keep having so much fun by himself in the corner and walked away. It was one of those times when you are so stunned you can't think of anything to say. It was awful, and I see this dick in my club all the time now, I give him evil eyes and if he (and he has) tries to tip me I ignore him.

Sounds exactly like the guys we get! I had one of them pull the same thing - "I just want to hang out and you girls keep trying to talk to me!" I smiled politely and said, in the same gentle tone I used to use with my preschool students when they got like this, "Sweetheart, this is a gentlemen's club, where men come to enjoy the company of beautiful women. None of us especially want to talk to you either, but we're doing our jobs. If you don't like the way we work, then I suggest you not come into our place of employment."

He just mumbled something while I walked away. Never saw that guy again. Guess he just needed someone to explain how things work in the club, and I guess he's just happier at home.

omg, know what would be hilarious? Is if you did like a pamphlet on "How To Enjoy A Strip Club" But in those monochrome orange/black books with the single line art that you see in medical offices and shit, and then handed them out.

Or maybe a small comic like those ones I find in the bathroom telling me how fast I'm going to hell for being there. But there's some guy that can save all that....I forget his name...

    Yek...

    My thoughts...

    1. The club has a beverage that is not readily available anywhere else...Voss water, as a hypothetical example. I love that stuff, I would totally frequent a place that had nothing else to offer.

    2. Good DJ. As hard as it is to believe, a good DJ is a wonder unto himself (or herself. I must add that because I visited club #70 on Friday afternoon and experienced my first female DJ.) If Lance were playing a gay bar, a country western bar, hell, a KKK bar, I would probably show up. Good music can be a destination.

    3. Said gentlemen are surrounded by powerful women. Their boss is a woman. The company owner is a woman. Co-workers are women. The chick at the coffee stand who can't understand the words "half-cafe skim" is a woman. All of them are confident and demand respect. He just isn't capable of being the misogynst he might like and still get through his daily life. So he comes to club to be around women that he doesn't have to respect.

    4. He is Mark45y and is just lamenting not being in Thailand. (cheap shot, but you know I love ya, mark, buddy. I am your biggest (possible read: only) fan round these parts.)

    5. He is intimidated by the women. Let's face it...judged by our default daily standards, most of the women in the average decent club are remarkably, at the very minimum, and commonly, phenomenally attractive. Yes, we know intellectually that you can be paid to fawn on us but sometimes emotions won't leap that barrier.

    6. He just plain doesn't have any money and is spending what little he can to try and live the life. I can't say I woldn't be tempted to do the same in similar circumstances.

Ok..enough brainstorming...I can go on all night. There are a lot of reasons. Otherwise, there would be no need for Rule #13.

    -gen
"See, believe it or not (and I don't care whether you do), it's never been about the sex. I get sex at home, anytime, and we like it, and it's good for both of us. No, my stripclub experience has been about acceptance, and affirmation, and desirability...There have been some women who have a personality that just clicks with mine, and in the faux-sex atmosphere of the club, it's a mix that is completely seductive." - Jay Zeno
