I found out I'm pregnant back in April. In the week before I found out, I'd bought a new car and moved into a new apartment. I decided that I just couldn't live with myself if I had an abortion and I know I'll be a good parent. My boyfriend dumped me when I told him I just couldn't abort so that's that.
The new car and new apartment kind of sucked up a lot of my savings. I managed to get out of my lease cheaply enough so don't have to worry about that, but if I were to sell my car now, it would be at a big enough loss that I'd still have to make payments on the car I no longer had. Also, I'd bought new b/c I really needed reliable transportation.
I've moved from DC to CT, back home with my mom essentially, to save money. I'm back at school full time, overloading classes to get as much done before the baby gets here (Christmas Day) as possible. My parents are paying for school and I'll be getting financial aid in the fall. My game plan is to finish my bachelors ASAP (btwn taking care of a newborn starting Jan'07, and working the earliest is Spring '0and enter (Spring '09) a Direct Entry Master's in Nursing Program and pursue a career as a nurse practitioner (85K/yr.) or nurse anaestist (130K/yr).
I plan to return to the pole in Summer of '07 (provided my body recovers okay, not generally a problem in my family) and to receive child support this January/February '07. BUT my problem is what to do for an income until then (Summer '07)?
My monthly expenses are about $1000 which isn't much, but given that I'm in class 35 hrs a week now, and already tired all the time from being pregnant and stressed out, what job can I do Friday through Sunday (approx. 24 hrs/ week) that will give me enough of income to pay my bills (car, insurance, gas, cell, visa)? I could reduce my expenses by selling my car, but it would be at a loss of about 5k-6K since I just bought it new and then I'd have no way to get to school or work. I don't want to sacrifice my classes b/c at the end of that day, that's what's going to be best for me and this child in terms of putting me in a position for a really stable income, benefits, etc (and I can still dance for extra income). BUT what to do?
There have to be jobs, sources of income, etc. that maybe I haven't thought of. Any ideas?
Thanks!
