Yea, it's a beautiful city. However it is equally fun in D.C. I just got back from there about a week ago.

I have a diar urge to go to Erie... lol j/k
Seriously though i've heard Chicago is awesome. I would love to go.... hell I just want out of Toronto.
which is why i live in chicagobest city hands down

Amazing architecture and great music, for sure. I love it there when it's not winter.
I lived in North Chicago briefly when the ex and I were first married. It was nice, like Susan said, when it's not Winter. They're so brutal.
Oh, geezus, you "when it's not winter" people. As long as you have two full body parkas and a windshield face mask with a built in heater...it's fine.
I love Chicago, as well. Winters can be pretty brutal...but nothing like living in the Arctic, so I take some reassurance in that. LOL

I have to go there for an art show in a couple of weeks. Any suggestions as to best music clubs, galleries, or restaurants?

a really good resturant that i went to was called fogo de chao. i think that's how you spell it. it is a brazilian steakhouse and it is really really good!!!!!!
I dont mind the winter here. Last winter was mild. Just dress right and cover your face while walking.
Don't be such pussies...man up..
lol
art galleries all over..take your pick. Im more about seeing the churches and structures.
Where i live is great for here.
I dunno im outta witty shit to say. saturday night at the vips..fuck ..I hate weekends..working in the city

Chicago is overrated IMO. I lived there for four years and even though my town here in WI of around 80,000 people has its bad points, I can honestly say I like it better here. Chicago is a very expensive place to live, traffic sucks, and while there are some nice people there, there are also many rude ones. People here are much more friendly and laid-back for the most part. I can't tell you how many times in Chicago I've been almost knocked over by asshole businessmen and businesswomen who were running to get where they were going without so much as an "Excuse me" or "I'm sorry." That doesn't happen here. Also, the strip club scene in Chicago isn't great. I'm really surprised at how few clubs they have for such a large city. Chicago can be a fun place to visit, but I wouldn't live there again.
I'm originally from the NW suburbs of chicago and it so much better out there compared to las vegas. Vegas gets boring after about a year or two and the people suck.I like midwest people better.

Yep there's only two, right? Admiral & Scarlett's? The Admiral is my fav. club, the girls are a bit bitchy but totally gorgeous.Originally Posted by blondhottie

Love Chicago. Like the people and pace much more than NYC, where I lived for several years.
Chicago winters haven't been brutal in the last few years. But the summers can be beasty hot.
As for the SCs--I am a home-town booster. Except for Vegas, I really don't go to clubs outside Chicago, even though I travel quite a bit.

DC is as fun as Chicago?? I don't think so. In fact I KNOW it's not!Originally Posted by Mastridonicus

Georgetown was the only neighbourhood that was busy with any consistency. On a Sat. afternoon, on a beautiful sunny day in July, the bars in Adams Morgan were empty!Ridiculous if you ask me!
My reference for the comparison is Toronto. DC isn't even close to Toronto, let alone Chicago or NYC. I'm afraid I disagree with your assessment...

Chicago is a good place to live, if you can afford it and have a good job.
See comments on Money area of board for economic statistics which haven't been that good recently.

The weather sucks, but then again, I'm someone who's used to humidity to the south of 50%. It's a good visit that I'd never want to live in, but I feel that way about most big towns. And yeah, there's plenty to do. But oddly enough for this site, I don't judge a town by its strip clubs, or I'd never go back to Seattle.
Ok. But it's my opinion. I like D.C. better.Originally Posted by NoCoverLover
