    Hormone Therapy + Appetite Question

I've been put on a daily double dose of Enpresse birth control pills for endometriosis...I have lost my will to eat! It sounds like a great diet aid but I don't want to get sick. I have to force myself to eat at mealtime. Any normal-sized meal makes me nauseated.
Will this wear off? Has anyone gone through this?

I had that problem when i was on the pill a few years ago. This is only suppsed to last for a month.
For me it lasted the entire time i took the pill, which was 6 months or so.

If you can't eat food, try substituting with Slimfast or BOOST.

Constantly drink water, juice, milk, ginger ale to settle your stomach. Try TUMS. It's not all bad, many people mistake, hunger for thirst, but in your case, i wouldn't think so.

If an entire meal makes you feel sick, trying eating small healthy snacks throught the day.

If the nausea doesn't stop afte a month go switch meds, you should have to live with nausea.

Wait a minute... I thought BC pills made you gain weight. Sorry for being so off topic here, but that's the reason I don't take BC pills. Could someone please elaborate on this for me. It would be so awesome if I could go on BC that made me lose weight, not gain it.

^ It's different for different people. On one pill, someone may lose a ton of weight, but with another person they'll gain weight. It's all about how your body reacts to it.

Stock up on protein bars, Mad. I'm preggers and taking these pre-natals and although I am not nauseated or anything...I have no appetite. So, I eat protein bars a few times a day...snack on apples, oranges, grapes, bananas, snap peas, raspberries (they grow in our back yard...nummmm). Just constantly feed your body with healthy food. Snack, snack, snack. Make a protein shake if you need to with fresh fruits.

If it lasts for longer than a month, then talk with your doctor about changing meds.

    Good luck!
