I was wondering if anyone experienced in webcam work could suggest a decent camera preferably with pan and tilt. Also maybe a few site names people are agreeing offer high payouts and significant traffic.
Thanks!

A Good Girl With Bad Intentions

Marek says, "A friend of mine got punched in the face by a dominatrix stripper about two weeks ago and I thought of you."

I quit doing webcam after the Section 2257 'Tracy Lords Law' went into effect ... which basically requires that today a webcam girl must post her real name, real address and real age on her webcam page for the entire world to see, versus risking a felony sex charge bust and a trip to federal court for failing to comply with Section 2257.
(snip) "But wait - there's more. Any site affected by 2257 must also publish a physical address that serves as its "place of business." Someone must be available at that address 20 hours a week just in case a law enforcement officer wants to gain access to those 2257 records. This doesn't seem too onerous if you imagine a Penthouse.com or Vivid Video type of operation. But consider all the mom-and-pop adult Web sites run out of private residences, or Webcam girls who don't turn the cam off when they take someone to bed. These rules mean that your local Webcam girl and our friends over at sex blog Fleshbot.com must publish their physical addresses online, thus leaving performers and writers vulnerable to stalking and harassment."(snip)

Just do not put any sexual material, as covered by the new law, and you do not have to have a record established. Put non-nude photos, nothing too overly sexual, and you can keep your privacy. You can also put an email or address where they can request information, I don't believe you have to put all your full info, as I never seen any adult site do this. Logitech Orbit 1.3 MP is an excellent camera, about 100 dollars, with pan/tilt, face tracking etc.
I WORK FOR A NUMBER OF CAM SITES AND YOU (DO NOT ) HAVE TO PUT YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION ON YOUR PAGE.. THEY NOW HAVE NEW LEGAL WAYS TO VERIFY YOU AGE AND IDENTITY. DO NOT BELIEVE THAT CRAP BECAUSE I HAVE NEVER HAVD ANY OF MY PERSONAL INFORMATION ON ANY OF THE 5 SITES I WORK FOR ON MY PAGE. THE 'Tracy Lords Law' IS OLD AND WITH EVERY NEW DAY IN THIS WORLD WE ADVANCE. WHAT YOU SHOULD DO HUN IS GO CHECK OUT A FEW SITES AND BE A LURKER AND SEE IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO DO IT . IF SO CONTACT THE SITE AND THEY WILL TELL YOU HOW YOU CAN BE A PERFORMER, ALSO THEY WILL TELL YOU THERE AGE VERIFICATION AND IDENTITY PROCESS. AND I HAVE RECIVED ALL MY CHECKES ON TIME AND I HAVE NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH ANY OF THE SITES I HAVE WORKED FOR. IF YOU LIKE TO BE HOME AND YOU HAVE THE TIME ITS WORTH IT. IF YOU NEED ANY MORE INFO EMAIL ME. ILL GIVE YOU A FEW SITES TO CHECK OUT.
thank you so much! yes, please recommend some sites. i'm really blind as a bat in this world and greatly appreciate any assistance. i've only been dancing for 9 months and i'm tired of going to a club. i have so many questions. i really think this is for me.

Sparkell, this is absolutely correct. When a girl doesn't actually source her own webcam stream and uses a partnership service to do it, then the partnership service is legally considered to be the 'producer' - the partnership service not the girl is legally required to maintain the name, address and age records to comply with Section 2257 etc.
However, in exchange for handing off the role of 'producer' to a partnership service web cam host, instead of hosting her own webcam on your own web server, the girl also usually winds up being charged 50% of her webcam earnings as a webcam hosting fee which is withheld by the partnership service before she gets paid her 'share' of her webcam earnings. Since my own webcam was hosted on my own web server, converting to a partnership service in order to comply with Section 2257 would have immediately cut my webcam earnings in half ! Since my webcam earnings were already declining, due to the fact that more and more webcam girls were coming online offering more and more 'extreme' webcam content, while all I was comfortable doing on camera were solo shows, the hours versus the dollars of a partnership service (with the partnership service skimming 50% of my website earnings) were IMHO simply not worth the effort.
Additionally, listing a webcam with a partnership service web cam host also puts that girl's webcam on the same lead-in page as 1000 other webcam girls, leading to a direct customer comparison of different girls' appearance and content. This arrangement makes it virtually impossible for a girl to draw major attention to her webcam unless she has super-outstanding visual characteristics and/or is offering content which is significantly 'juicier' than average.

I don't think there's any money in webcam at all anymore. I did some webcam work in 2003 and it was bad then, and I'm sure it's even worse now. Sometimes I would sit there for hours without getting one private show, and I got sick of all the guys begging to see something for free. You are better off dancing and maybe doing some nude modeling on the side if you want to pick up some extra cash.
i've been interested in doing webcam for a while. i just spent like 2 weeks putting together my own website, got a listing on http://www.camgirlshide.com , got the billing all set up, and now i don't know if i even want to do it anymore. i came across a message board when i was trying to figure out how to get started, where guys record girls' camshows and then post them for everyone to see. (can't remember the name of the site unfortunately)
that site, camgirlshide, is for independant camgirls and it is just an ad listing, the guy doesn't take any of your money. you have to have a website to be listed there. they have a forum with a section that's just for girls listed on the site...in the forum the "scammers" section is where they post the convos. of all the guys who try to bullshit around...it's a very long list! but apparently some of the girls do make money...i don't know how much.
after i got listed i immediately started getting crazy IM's on yahoo. immediately after my listing showed up someone im'd me pretending to be the owner of the site trying to get me to do a free show. i had a couple messages from people who *seemed* to be real and wanted to buy a show but i was still working on the billing so i wasn't ready. if you list on there make sure you read the faq and the scammer section in the forum so you don't fall for anyone who is impersonating the owner, apparently this is a big problem there.
i spoke with our Paige D'Winter and she suggested working through another site before trying to do it on my own...if i decide to do it i think i will keep my listing on camgirlshide but also try using a site that already has traffic. i'm not sure how much traffic camgirlshide has of people who actually will spend. also i'm really disturbed by all the "teeny" type girls all over that site.
there is another site for independant girls (from what i understand) called http://www.realgirlsoncam.com you might check that one out. on there they can make a site for you also, or i think you can use your own...
good luck if you decide to do it, and let us know how it goes. if i decide to try it out i'll be sure to update!
Oh, I musta took a wrong turn at Albuquerque.
howdy ho, junior rangers.
I was thinking about webcam BUT I have seen webcam frame pics posted on high-traffic non-porn sites (like , which gets millions of hits every month). If I had to turn over half of my pay to prevent having to post my personal info, AND live in fear of freaky pics of me floating around the Net..yeah, I wouldn't do it....

^^^ and don't forget that, even if you do decide to turn over 50% of your webcam earnings to a webcam hosting service, the IRS or any other 'authorized gov't agency' can walk into the office of your webcam host and ask for a complete listing of the real names, real addresses, and real SS#'s of all of the webcam girls that are using that service ... without probable cause and without a warrant. While having the webcam host maintain the Section 2257 info file does eliminate the requirement of posting personal info for anybody on the web to see, it does not prevent the IRS or your state income tax people from 'one stop shopping' for likely audit candidates in the adult entertainment industry. But now the same is true of any adult website whether the images are still pictures or prerecorded video or live video streams ... in every case the webmaster is required to maintain a file containing the real names, real ages, real addresses, and real SS#'s of any person who appears in an 'adult' manner on that website, and required to show the contents of that file to any 'authorized gov't agency' ... which means anything from local cops to the FBI I suppose.
I've done a lot of webcam stuff, try any of these website, whichever works best for you.

Ya i like doing independant work alot better. But o well

So on http://www.realgirlsoncam.com, since you are an independent, are you supposed to go out and get your own clients or does the website itself have traffic?
Realgirlsoncam.com only wants new girls with no webcam experience at all.
