Like yesterday i did 4 shows and made $210.00 that was a good day sometimes u dont get anyone all day like today i didnt have anyone. All the girls i work with said it was really slow.
This is actually pretty good earnings these days for a girl who is using a webcam hosting service, who is not 'steering in' her own webcam traffic from an independent website, club regulars etc., and who is not providing extremely 'juicy' content. However, the joker in the deck is the fact that 100% of these webcam percentage payouts are going to be reported to the IRS via a 1099 from the webcam host - meaning that some 35-40% of that amount must go to pay income taxes and self-employment taxes.

Eesh. I hope this will be lessened somewhat by Canadian law and the fact that I'm a student. If not, then i'd better start saving

    better read this ...

also please be very aware of the following 'pitfall' ...

"Q. I am a Canadian working as an independent contractor in a telecommuting capacity for an American company. All my work is done in Canada; do I have to pay the IRS?

    A. No. Since the American tax system is based on where the work is performed, you would not pay any taxes in the States. Be advised though that if you ever travel to the States, even for one day for work related matters you may become liable for tax payment in the States. You do need to declare your income in Canada on your taxes, remembering to convert it to Canadian funds." from

Also Canada is no bargain where taxes are concerned. Federal and Quebec Provincial taxes can add up to 29%-33% or so for a typical full time dancer / webcam girl. See . On top of that you can get whacked for both the 'employer's' and 'employee's share of Quebec Pension Plan taxes which can add another 10%, which are not included in the table. Thus the overall Canadian/Quebec tax rate is probably going to be in the same ballpark as US tax rates.

If there's any 'saving grace' it is probably that the Canadian Tax computers don't yet have as much automatic reporting requirements established as the US Tax computers do. However, if a US webcam host is reporting your income to the IRS, it's a pretty good probability that this will be passed on automatically to the Canada Revenue Agency and Revenu Quebec if a Canadian/Quebec address is listed on the US webcam host's 1099 report form because of the US/Canada tax treaty.
