    New Girl

    Alright......background info.......

I want to start dancing, but I don't feel my body is up to "parr"..and while I'm constantly watching my diet and working out at least 5 days a week ....I decided to start taking a pole tricks class(been going for almost 13 weeks now) ....just to learn tricks and tone up more....................

well....................last night one of the instructors who teaches Strip Areobics stopped in and we got to talking about "cute" moves to use while auditioning and things not to do because they make you look like a newbie......and they "scream newgirl"

AND..... finally this brings me to the point of this thread....

What are some things/moves that really "scream" new girl to you?

    Just wondering...............

Girls mistaking dancing for Dancing - like moves you'd do in a dance club, not a stripclub.

But nervousness is the biggest, like tripping out of their clothes or in their shoes or focusing on their moves so much that they don't realize they have this horrible expression on their face.

Sounds like you'll be well prepared though

jerkiness is right! and lack of confidence shows through on stage so just be confident in whatever you are doing, smile a lot and let the flow of your body do it for you. Oh, and girls who are shaky visibly says newbie!

    Love it!

The jerkiness I will second or third, along with the deer in headlights. And yes, many do regular dance club moves, which is a dead give away in my opinion. One girl, I'll never forget her when she first started. You know how when you hold on to the pole and grind, kind of like waving your body from the shoulders, down through the hips to your feet. It's one of the most basic of basics. She did it backwards. Like from hips to chest instead of chest to hips.. it was actually so funny looking I couldnt help but chuckle. It looked like she was about to throw up verses being a sexy seductive move. I later helped her to learn how to roll in a grind the right way, but it was damn funny!!

    Wearing street clothes/heels. LOL!
    Dancing too fast.
Constantly covering your boobs with your hands without really thinking about it.
Not making eye contact with the custies.

When I had first started a few months ago as the newbie....

    1) I spun around on the pole holding with both hands on top of each other in a fist holding on dearly LOL & my legs were crossed as if I was sitting indian style but on a pole and my forehead literally touched the pole.

    2) I would constantly walk fast past the custys, not even trying to hustle or learn how to and sit wayyy in the back with all the dancers who'd been there for a while who were lazy.. But I was new and was being lazy too.

    3) DANCING wayyyyyyy to fast..shaking my ass to the beat and not even facing the custys. I LOST MONEY bc of that when a few told me as I got off that they wanted to tip, but I didn't bother to look their way.

    4) Oh yeah and infront of all the dancers in the dressing room, I poured a whole bottle of body oil on my body thinking I need to keep my skin all smooth n shiny, but really was making it hard for myself and others! and wow later the day, I realized how stupid I was, the pole was SLIPPERY to the max!

    5) ASKING wayy too many questions.. honestly I became best friends with the bouncers too.. bc I asked them the most since I DIDNT have the guts back then to ask the dancers. LOL

So much to remember!! Heh..... the dancer I spoke with....her two big ones were...

    1. Not making eye contact.....she stressed several times that this is one of the most important things.

    2. Dancing around and not to the customer.

Thanks for all the helpful tips!!

there's a thing the girls at my work call the "newgirl ass shake" for some reason the majority of the new hires shake their ass for about 75% of the song. not that shaking your ass is a bad thing, just not when you do it constantly or when it looks like you're humping everything in site. dancing too fast (as mentioned) is another big one. i dance fast at times, when the song calls for it, but it's still too the music and i keep it fluid and interesting. jerking around frantically scares most customers.
