    Men- OMG! Is this true?

I learn something new every day. I was informed that men get erections when they get into fights. I have read about some men getting erections while killing (ex: wartime firefight.) I thought that was anecdotal though.

But don't you worry about your junk getting ripped off in a streetfight if it's in the wind....? Up until now, I thought "everything" retracted up into the lower abdomen (like when cold) when the "fight or flight" mechanism was engaged.

Hmm. Does anyone want to enlighten me here?

I noticed that my male doggies sometimes get aroused when they fight each other, or if they think there is an intruder.

and I want to know about the whole men sitting to pee thing....wtf is that about?

It makes sense. Fighting and sexual arousal are both products of testosterone bursts. Seems to me that if enough testosterone is released for one, then the other would be a side effect.

Then again, I'm into violent sex.

I have never, ever heard such nonsense. Men do not get hard while fighting. (Okay, I'll allow some psychos get hard when they think about beating someone up, say a wife or a girlfriend.)

But during a fight? No way. Indeed, this makes zero sense, biologically speaking. The body wants to protect itself during such moments, not get ready for romance.

The generality is, as posted above, absolutely ridiculous.

There are a few men who do. These are men who love to fight.

And you can expect them to want to beat you to get hard.

    Run for the hills.

^ Well, that's why I'm puzzled. I'm used to male aggression resulting in violence & threat of physical injury (i.e. a certain kind of aggression is not sexy to me), so why an erection would happen during a fight is beyond me. But I don't have a penis.
I have three (otherwise cute) young nephews who beat eachother up all the time...At this point in my life I have accepted violence is inherent in the male of the species. Maybe Nicolina has some input here.

Never heard that one before, bet it happens in some though. I know when I have fought or had to flee, blood would not go to that point. Maybe that is why that takewando wanker always wore a cup protector... bloody bastard gave me a haematoma the size of a tennis ball. Guy did not now how to spar, only compete.

When a guy gets in a fight, the adrenalin pumps, the hair stands on end, the heart rate increases, the flow of anticoagulants goes up, and the genitals retract, and quite understandably so.

If a guy pops a boner in a fight-or-flight situation, he should get some counseling.

Violence is inherent in males like shopping and exclusionary jealousy is inherent in females. You can make that statement, but it doesn't have to be so.

It is. It's what nature designed them to do. This is why it's so important to teach little boys how to control themselves and find acceptable outlets for that energy, such as sports and exercise. One of the most important parts of parenting young sons is teaching them self-control, and this why they NEED fathers or other adult males to teach them how to be gentlemen.

Yes, I had to give up fighting because I would walk around with an 8 inch erection and get all pumped up..

I find this to be improbable for the predominance of men, and not simply on the basis of anecdotal experience. I mean, I'm a lover, not a fighter.

At this point in my life I have accepted violence is inherent in the male of the species.
Violence isn't inherent in men, but aggression and the capacity to deliver violence (both of which are provided by testosterone) is indeed inherent--there's a difference. That's part of what makes us men and like a great many things, it can be put to use with varying degrees of moral and ethical consideration.

Getting it up while fighting makes zero sense to me. Never been in a fight and hope to never be in one. And ya that men are violent is one steroetype that I wish would go away but I doubt it will. I know the only way I'd throw a punch was to protect my family/friends. Yes alot of guys can be violent but I don't think that many are.

Have to say this actually intrigued me more and am going a bit off topic. I do that. I'm 6'4" and don't claim to have that good of aim. Not to mention there are splashback problems. I don't want to clean that up anymore then anyone else who has cleaned that up. (Assuming you mean at a home and not public restroom) If there is a urinal then I'm using that and there is no problem.

OK what about during team sports, when there is no threat to life or limb but "the blood is high"?
My friend reported that she noticed the college water polo team during several games rising to the occasion because they were wearing white Speedos. (PS They were in a heated pool.)

Because water polo guys are major perves? Sorry, friend of mine used to tell me stories of what went on in a water polo match. There was lots of pulling of the shorts as a defensive maneuver, occasional play with the tackle. Nope don’t even want to get in that pool. Enough stimulation will cause a reaction, even if you have extremely good control.

I heard about this too. It's an adrenalin thing I think. Apparently that's why guys can get aroused watching action/horror films or so I have heard...

I thought it was the T&A? Bloody violence does nothing for me in that department. Take Saw for example.

Ya, I've never heard of that one either. The only excitement that I've experienced while watching/playing sports or watching action movies is the Kickass my team won/scored or Wow that plane blew up very convincingly.

I've played team sports in one form or another for about eight decades now. Never noticed or heard about a wood issue with any of my teammates. Pfooey.

I have a couple friends that it applies to, and I've heard about it. Probably not true for most men, but it explains some cases.

    Holy Crap!

Where in the world do you gals come up with this stuff?

Seriously, if I had a dollar for every time a gal claimed she saw a guy 'excited' over some weird sick crap just to be a litte misandrist, I'd be a zillionaire by now.

If they were wearing speedos, you would notice a hard on regardless of the color.

Um - have you given a lap dance before? Seriously, picture a guy wearing a speedo with a hard-on. That would be one of the most painful things a guy could experience.

Wow. The gender gap is much wider than I thought. There is NO truth to this. If some poor guy's wiring was so screwed up that this happened to him, he would be laughed out of the the game.

wow...uhmm, i've been in a few one on one fights and 2 big brawls and there is a rush of adrenlin that comes with it but no erection that I've known! Some dude out there may have, but i'd say the vast majority of men don't get hard ones from fighting or violence.
    I hope life isn't a big joke, because I don't get it.

I've spent the past 15 minutes banging google for answers, nothing is being found.

Speedos of any color other than black will give you an anatomical view of the male gentalia.

Somehow this kind of reminds me of I’ll Sleep When I’m Dead wherein a male gangster is raped by another and commits suicide. His brother, also a gangster, then has to deal with the issues, of why, and what really happened, and how to deal with the pain.

There is a lot of evil out there in this world, and there are some people wired to consider it pleasure. I do not think it is a common thing, and would love to see an unbiased research paper on it.
