    Exclamation fit body

I'm not a dancer, but have always wanted to be, however I haven't felt sure enough about myself and I want to change that ASAP. I hope 28 is not too old to begin. I'm only 5'1" and slim enough for a size 1. I have tiny boobs, but really want to work my ass first. I used to have a great butt, and it seems the more I hit the gym, the flatter it gets. I'm even developing some cellulite, so I feel desperate to work on that NOW. My main question is, what's the best workout to get a stripper bod. With my weight (98lbs), it shouldn't be hard to get some shape, but I need to know how to do it. I'm also a vegetarian, so that doesn't help. Should I take protein shakes, or would that just make me gain weight in unwanted areas? I have so many questions...I'll be so grateful to get some advice....THANX

To build the butt, do lunges. Tons and tons of longes. Stationary, walking, backward, weighted, you name it.

When you start stripping, you will build muscle tone, esp. in the thighs, calves, and butt. I wouldn't worry about it to much if you are that small.

Just be confident, and remember that the lighting hides cellulite for a reason. Don't stress, and you'll make money. You'll tone up in no time.

yes, lunges are so important because the parts that people will focus on is your butt and belly.

I'm a vegetarian too and I hate protein shakes. They give me gas. I usually go for yogurt, eggs and tofu for protein. And there are a lot of cereals like Kashi that are packed with protein.

Once you start making dancer money, perhaps consider hiring a personal trainer. I've been working with one over a year now and it's done wonders for my build.

I'm assuming this isn't a weight obsessive question and that you are vegetarian for reasons other than wanting to be thin. Protein is food for your muscle and would greatly increase your results at the gym. I have a protien shake following my workout/cardio. They do make soy protien powder which can be found at your local gnc. I used Protien 95 with soy milk when I was on macrobiotic diet for health reasons.
Emily is spot on about the personal trainer. You avoid injuries/strains, and get the most out of your time spent working out. The first year I worked out alone, and I looked okay, definately better. But then, I hired my first of 2 trainers, 8 years ago, and yowza! After 3 months I had an ass and a tight curvy figure. (I had been straight as a board) I couldn't/wouldn't workout without a pt until this year.
I would suggest checking out a Lifetime Fitness and taking advantage of their nutritionist for a consult as well. Vegetarian and vegan diets are perfectly fine and healthy but it's always good to make sure you are doing everything you can to maintain proper nutrition. And you'd certainly want to intake more when you become more active.
I change it up every so often but here's what I'm doing now, for butt and legs, in this order: Leg press, Leg Extensions, Lying Leg Curls, Stiff Legged Deadlifts, Donkey Calf Raises, Walking Lunges. I do higher weights and pyramid my sets because my goal is adding muscle mass to sculpt my body into a feminine shape. And I build my ass up to hide my big lump of a tailbone. I avoid certain types of squats which I found actually thickened my waistline. (Bad trainer)
    Good luck Vicky Paige!

what certain types of squats thiken the waistline, I'd like to avoid them too.

    Fawn,
These are the good squats recommended by my friend Tim, I usually do the Hack Squats:
"Hack squats (on a hack squat machine)
with your feet placed back (your shoulders should remain over your ankles through the entire range of motion)
ideally you should put your heels together, and toes apart (making a v with your feet)
and you should do them either on your toes (hard) or with your heels on a block.
(this gives a greater range of motion, and takes stress off of the knee’s) also sissy squats,
and frog squats are great alternatives to the regular back squat. None of these exercises
thicken the waistline, or overly develop the glutes."

I'm really grateful for all the replies. I will certainly take note of the advice. I guess I'm so self-conscious because I look like a teenager(not very sexy)so I am targetting towards a fuller, sexier figure.
