I take my birth control every night at 10. Due to a lingering illness, I worshipped the porcelain goddess at about 1:30 AM. Should I take another pill, or am I covered?
Sorry about the ickiness...

Id be careful and use extra protection while having sex. Im not sure how fast the pill absorbs into someones system but Im sure youre ok. Just be extra safe to be safe.

You missed one pill? I think you're safe, that is if it's the once-a-day variety. Also 3 hours is a long time.
I'd worry about the illness firstTHEN the copious amounts of sex you plan on having and the levels of protection involved

Call your doctor or pharmacist.

my gyno told me that you have 6 hours before it's a problem.... but better safe than sorry. ask your own doc (or read the packet in the thingy) and use back-up

For several months I had a problem with taking mine up to 8 hours late sometimes.. lol.. I never got pregnant, so maybe I was just lucky. Now I'm on the nuvaring, and I love it! No remembering the time of day.. just mark on the calendar every 3 weeks and then 1 week after that to remember to insert and remove. And if I want, I can just leave it in 4 weeks and not have a period that month at all! :-D
do you think your pill may be adding to your lingering illness?? Sometimes the pills will make you feel sick
You are not covered.
Taking it late is OK, but you barfed the whole thing up, so you'll be missing that dose entirely if it wasn't absorbed (which it may or may not have been).
Extra protection!

I would call the pharmasist, and ask...you can call any local pharmacy. I do know pills absorb in 45 minutes.
Some birth control pills release all their estrogen all at once, which can induce nausea. After being on the pill for two years I started waking up and puking/dry heaving nearly every night (after taking my pill). It got so bad that I tore my throat and started coughing specks of blood, which meants a costly trip to the ER. Shortly thereafter I went on the patch which releases hormones slowly and consitently over time, and have had no problems since.
Just something to think about if this starts happening regularly.

All about my boobs...
I heard that with any Birth Control if it takes a month to fully enter your system (which most do) then it takes a month to fully come out so you should be ok. But I still think you should be careful.... better to be safe then sorry

It may be true that it takes a month to start working, but it definitely doesn't take a month to wear off. My sister stopped taking her pill and then had unprotected sex less than a week later, and she got pregnant!
I have a friend that got pregnant on the pill and she'd been puking a lot. Better safe than sorry.

I think you should be fine, just get back on track the next day and use another method for a day or two.
