I picked mini dresses because I wear tube dresses a lot. But I also wear gowns an equal amount of time.

I was asking because I really prefer to wear pants outfits. I think they look a lot better on me that minidresses sinse I'm so tall. However I had a custy yesterday tell me he comes into a strip club to see women dressed like sluts (creep I know) but it got me thinking...

I can tell when a gal gets more self confidence from her costume. And in those instances, yes, it does make a difference.Originally Posted by Bridgette

And Bridgette, while I respect your 11 years, the question was asked of customers. I have many, many more years of appreciating women's looks and will tell you that costumes, like outfits, may get you noticed, but won't necessarily sell a dance.

Definitely. It is an important part of the overall impression a dancer makes. Customers probably are all over the lot, but I look for classy, intelligent. Dressing the part is an important part of that.Originally Posted by Alexis81
Costumes work well for me- most girls in my club wear either more basic tub dresses/bikinis, or kinda funky outfits w/ booty shorts (nothing wrong with that at all!), and I feel it makes me stand out a bit, plus shows a bit of my personality.
I do notice a difference in my tips when I change, especially with guys who come in as a group.
"a face only a butters could love..."
My 2nd fave wears all kinds of great stuff.
Last time I saw her she was wearing a corset and this blazer/sport jacket thing with a black g-string. Lots of cleavage.
She does have very large implants and seeing her wear that made me say "Damn!"
I'm more about the colors. My all time favorite has beautiful black hair and nice tanned skin, but she usually just wears a black boybeater/tankini and lacy black bottoms. I know she would look extra-good in hot pink or maybe a purplish hot pink.
I mentioned in another post at my former haunt, a topless club, a dancer named Ecstasy had black thigh high go-go boots with raised studs on them, with bottoms and a top to match. I loved those boots.

I tend to notice more of how she moves on stage and her personality. Going to be a bit blunt but the outfit is only worn for a short time frame and to me its either personality or looks that gets my attention. If she gets it with both then I'm in trouble.
But since you asked what outfits would get my attention. I'd actually say like a white wifebeater and some booty shorts are damn sexy. It's more relaxed which is what I tend to like.

Some pant suits are okay, but my beef with them is the same beef I have with gowns or boots. They tend to hide the legs.Originally Posted by Alexis81
Well, creep or not, I do think he has a point. The primary drive for a guy to go to a SC is pretty simple and reptilian. However I had a custy yesterday tell me he comes into a strip club to see women dressed like sluts (creep I know) but it got me thinking...
I mean c'mon, we guys aren't paying $5-20 at the door to appreciate a dancer's intelligence or wisdom. I'm not saying that we don't appreciate those things, but lets face it, such things are pretty ancillary compared to our main MO for having you entertain us. We want to see some T&A. "Classy-slutty" is up my alley, so I went with mini-dresses.
Of course, you don't have to aim for slutty all of the time. Mix it up a little. IMO, a good stripper wardrobe should incorporate all of the listed options. Its not so much what type of costume you have, its about seeing that you took the time to make yourself presentable. In the end, its not about the outfit, its about the woman wearing it.
Now with that said...
Drab black and white outfits are a minor pet-peeve of mine. I suppose a lot of gals aim for these colors because they're neutral. The problem is that they're not very attention getting (esspecially when every girl is wearing them) and tend to look, dare I say, sort of civilian. Don't be afraid to try bold colors on account that they look tacky. In the real world they do look tacky, but in the fantasy world of the SC, tacky can be good...sometimes. Again, this isn't the opera house that you're dressing for.Originally Posted by itsthatguy

Trust me hun, I KNOW what sells a dance. Getting noticed is half of it and the FIRST part of it, so I reckon it's pretty damn important. The outfit goes a long way in that respect. I always love when a custy thinks he knows more about our jobs than those of us who actually do itOriginally Posted by azcustomer
I manage to stay busy all night long because I know what the hell I'm doing.
You may THINK you won't notice or care about my outfit, but I'm here to tell you, when my flash of bright glowing-under-the-blacklight color and striking outfit hits your retina, it WILL make you look. That's all I need and then I can handle the rest![]()

To answer OP: If you feel hot and sexy in it, you will make money in it. Period. I sometimes wear a brightly colored long jumpsuit (and it's fucken bright) or full bodystockings and I bank in them. The jumpsuit thing is like a giant flashing neon sign that makes guys look at me - once you get them looking it's easier to sell them. The bodystockings are just damn sexy and some guys really like them, some don't care and some prefer other outfits, but I feel fucken HOT in them and know how to work them. They are crotchless so I like to wear either nude (the naked look) or super-bright glowing thongs underneath that call attention to the crotch area. The guys notice and make silly comments about the "hole" in my outfit and I play on it with them. It works!
And I love it when strippers tell me what I do and don't like.Originally Posted by Bridgette

You may be able to get a dance or two in an interesting costume or glowing bathing suit. But not from me.
Buying dances from strippers wearing those things promises for a shallow encounter.
And trust me, I know how to spend.![]()

I voted Miniskirts (and don't forget the f-me pumps).Originally Posted by Alexis81
Pants??? you'd have to be pretty darn hot to get a dance from me wearing pants.
When I go to a club as a custy, I tend to check out the skimpy little outfits the most. (funny, I myself don't dress that way at work..) I've never been a big fan of pants, just looks too much like something that could be worn OTC. Plus I worry if the girls gonna go through the trouble of taking them completly off during a dance..I don't like buying dances from someone whose gonna half-ass it and not strip down to the G.

I agree somewhat, a dancer could wear two bandaids and a strapon in reverse, I'm still most likely to get dances from the girl wearing the baby doll/mini dress that is just a little to short to cover her crotch when she walks around.Originally Posted by azcustomer
What's underneath the clothes is going to actually sell the dance to me.

Saw a girl last night that was in a black bikini top and matching g with a way too short plaid mini skirt. Damn she looked good. Was a girl I would likely had not really paid much attention to her cause she wasn't really my type but she did get it basically because of that skirt. Too bad she never came to talk to me or ask if I wanted a dance cause I very likely would have said yes.
l have a problem with costumes. A big big problem. l'm a super, super petite female. lt's really hard to even find bikini and thong/g strings to dance in that fit. l'm like 5"1 and 95 lbs. "one size fits most"...well, do not fit me. Period. And l can't dance in classy outfits, becuase of my look. Dreads, peircings, tats...Me in a frilly, flowery costume just wouldn't look right. So l have to pull off the bad girl/punk/goth look. and l can't find that crap anywhere, atleast that fits me. So l just usualy dance in a tiny g and a small black bikini top with this little see through black skirt. And of course the knee high pvc boots. And my boot's are a problem and not a problem. l have long legs, and some people think l look better in ankle stilletos because they show off my legs, and some think the boots look better because l have an exotic look and the boots accentuate that. Sometimes l wish l was just normal size so l can fit into crap.
