Does anyone know about the "amateur night" contest at the Rhino in City of Industry? On their website they advertise a $2000 cash prize. Sounds too good to be true. At the Rhino in Santa Barbara the prize is $200. Anyone have the scoop?

Usually they mean $2000 TOTAL cash prizes. So, first place gets x amount of dollars, second place gets x amount, third place gets x amount...and on and on.

It is too good to be true. They will tell you that they only award the 2000 total if there is at least either 10 or 12 contestants. I forget the exact number but its definately more than the usual 6-8 that show up. They will only give out 1000 total if its less girls than the big number they want. If its less than 6 I think they wont hve it at all. And yeah, thats the total of 1st 2nd and third prize put together. Also the contest in Industry is usaully rigged. However at Spearmint rhino Rialto the prize is smaller like 250 for first prize but its not rigged and they don't expect more than like 6 girls to have it.

When i used to dance on the west coast and i danced at spearmint rhino industry, the manager would usually look over the girls and pretty much decide who would get the first prize before the contest would even start. The 2000 prize is just to get you in the door, and also for the customers to get a chance to see new dancers.
