Default Help removing Bloodhound Exploit 20 Virus

Somehow, we have this on one of our laptops that our kids use, we have Norton Anti virus and it won't clean it... I have done all the searches I can think of trying to find a link to remove it... any help would be greatly appreciated...

    Thank you!

Do you have animated cursors? Or non standard ones? Like a running horse or something?

Well either way, if you install SP2 http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/sp2/default.mspx , the virus may be on your system, but it's harmless. (Check for SP2 by right clicking my computer, left clicking properties...should say "Service Pack 2" In the SYSTEM section.

If you have SP2 tell norton to ignore it. The only way to remove it is to stop using the cursors that are infected, or uninstall them. But it's pretty much harmless. Almost all Bloodhound variations where rendered harmless by SP2

Some of the bloodhound.exploit.20 was found in adware. Since it's nature is trackback it's pretty much easy that Norton assumed something you had is the bloodhound due to the symilar actions. Your better bet is to use an anti adaware program like spyware sweeper. I'm not a big fan of spybot but it DOES remove it if the files aren't in use by the system.

Thanks.. I think that this fixed it... but my kids don't have customized cursors... so I don't know how they got it.. we have net nanny and virus software to ensure crap doesn't get on this thing... its just been running really slow, then I got a notice when I was doing a system report of visited websites..

    Thanks again..

    Yay! Another problem bites it!

    Know what sucks?

Working on a roof in 91 degree weather. I've burnt my hands and even fell off a story. Cause like I fell and it was so hot I jumped back up, and consequently right off the roof.

    Luckily I'm invincible! CHRRRIIISTTTT.
