    Default Auditioning Tomorrow!

So after hanging around on these boards for exactly a year, I am getting the guts to audition! Whoot! Well, it's not only guts, but I've made it a necessity. Just quit an absolutely horrid retail job and I'm ready for something new. I am heading up tomorrow to apply and hopefully they'll let me audition as well.

I'm trying not to let myself get nervous; I'm trying to pick out good audition songs which is giving me something to concentrate on.

So send me your encouragement, girls! And cross your fingers for me! ^_^

Good luck to you tomorrow. It is not half as scary as it seems. Once you are up there on stage you will be fine.

    Good luck.. !

till this day, i still hate to audition bc i get soo nervous.. i get nervous in general all the time when i work.. but i just try to not make it sooo dramatic than what it really is.. just smile, make eye contact, and dance slowly!

sometimes when u choose ur OWN songs, it just makes it sooo easier to enjoy yourself..

    just HAVE FUN runawaywaltz

Woah. I just came back from my audition, though it wasn't really even an audition. I went with a friend who used to work at this club, but she had taken a break for about six months. She came to ask for her job back, and I went along to apply and audition.

We talked to the day manager, a woman who looked about twenty-six or seven. My friend spoke up first, asking for her job back. The woman instantly said yes, and there was a grin on her face that made me think that she was a pretty nice sort. Then the manager turned towards me, asking if I was applying to be an entertainer too.

"Yup!" I replied cheerfully. I had all of my audition clothes in a bag in the car in case they would let me audition.

"Alright." The woman looked me over with a critical eye, and then smiled. "You look like you've got a good rack" (or something of the sort, I can't remember the exact words). Then she told me that I could come in to start when my friend did.

The manager asked for my friend to show me the ropes of the place, act as my mentor, pretty much. I've been picking my friend's mind for ages about this, so I feel better knowing that I'll have someone to help keep me from making too many horrendous mistakes. My first shift is on Wednesday, the day shift! I can't believe it! I feel strange being hired right away, 'cause I spent so long pumping myself up to audition. But the club looks really nice. Small, but it looks nice. Not some dingy hole in the wall, which is comforting. I have yet to meet the other girls and the DJs and everything, but I'll meet them on Wednesday.

It was over in like five minutes! The manager was nice, blunt but nice. If I had known that it would be that easy, I would have done this a long time ago! But I guess, getting hired might have been easy enough, but it's the actual dancing that matters. I'll see how it goes on Wednesday! Thanks for all of your encouragement!

i agree with you classics montana! its noo big deal.. i dont know why but i over analyze the whole auditioning/dancing shyt for no reason.. its affected my ability to stay confidence and hustle bc im sooo focused on whether or not i get hired or how i do on stage or if im good or not good doing a pole trick..

dont even worry about any of that.. just go on in ur first day, smile, have eye contact, and be friendly! soo easy to do but for some reason it seems like sooo much to us newbies in the business..!

Hi Girls! I really want to be a dancer i went to my first club last night and auditioned un prepared i didnt even kno i was going to audition until i got there, surprise! well i only did ok, i mean i have never stripped b4, and this was a nude club and i last 2 songs and got 6 bucks, not terrible. I really do need some help tho, i read all of the FAQ's and the posts off of that, but if you girls had some pointers how should i approach customers while im on stage? i stuck around and watched the girls after me, but still a little uncertain. also if anyone is in the cleveland area i would love a tutor lol, or if anyone knows of any good poledancing or strip tease classes or video tapes!
    Thanks girls
    so glad your all here

Wednesday was my first day. I went on the day shift so I could ease into things, and it went better than I expected. I only gave two lapdances, but with tips and everything, I walked out with seventy-bucks. All of the girls were complaining that it was a dead day, but it gave me time to watch the other girls dancing and interacting with the guys. It was my first time actually in a strip club (even when I went to apply, I was just in the office, never actually on the floor itself).

The girls were really, really nice. That was awesome, 'cause I was expecting a lot of cattiness. One girl GAVE me a pair of shoes, and I wanted to give her a giant hug. There was only five girls on the day shift, which meant that every twenty minutes or so I was hopping on stage to do a set, and I picked up some floor work. I still have to work on it. The club has practice poles in the back, so the other girls were showing me how to walk around it, how to swing and do little twirls around it. I can walk and swing, but the twirling is out of my limit right now.

The dancing on stage was no problem. I mean, I got tips and advice from the other girls about how to do moves better, so that was good. And being on stage every 20 minutes gave me plenty of time to practice. My problem is talking with customers. I'm not a good social chatter, so once I asked them their name, how they were, whether they've been to the club before, etc., I ran out of things to talk about and there was awkward silences. But I was still proud for even getting two dances! I figure with this job, I'll be forced to learn how to interact with people.

The next day. my legs were killing me so bad. I couldn't walk without limping. And you girls were right about your knees being black and blue the next day! It took until today (Saturday) before they stopped aching. My next day is Monday. It'll be my first night, and I figured I would start on something small and build up to doing weekend nights. I keep running things through my head on how to improve. I need to practice floor work, and I think I need to work on creating a stage persona/character to make it easier to interact with customers.

Overall, it was quite fun! I know I'll do even better on Monday, so I'm excited! Thanks for all of your encouragement, girls!

I have a friend in Elyria that tutors up-and-comers in the dance clubs. If you still need help, I'll hook you two up.
