I am on the second day of not smoking. I even worked last night at the club. I've been wanting to post this but waited till tonight. I started smoking when I was 13 years old. I am now 29. I'll keep everyone posted!

Keep it up, Girl!
Find something to focus your "I-Need-a-Cig" energy into, Preferably something you can do with your hands.
Figdeting with beads on a string can work, doodling on a sketchpad, things like that.
I'm here just for the food.
Congrats! Keep up the good work!
Promote yourself and earn more money! This is a business that is owned by strippers for strippers. Let's make that money!
I just feel funny because I don't know what to do with my hands at work (where smoking is allowed)? I don't physically have any withdrawl symtoms other than moving my hand all the time.
I made it roughly 2 weeks, no withdrawl symptoms whatso ever. Then one day at work, I stood around for 10hrs with 4 chainsmokers....I was shaking so bad by the time I got in the car I knew I had to buy smokes...and now I'm trying to quit AGAIN. Good luck!
I know it was really hard at work. I am sure that I can do it!!! Blade wanna do it with me?
LoL ( but the quiting part)?

“Since the ACLU is trying to take away the word ‘Christmas,’ we thought it would be a great time to send the group a Christmas card this year. If everybody did this, they would be buried in mail.”
Good luck both of you! And I know it's impossible to avoid at work, but Blade is right about other smokers being the worst trigger! Watch out for that if you can.
Good Luck! And Candy Cigarettes!
People are not ruled by their memories.

Great job! Keep up the good work. You're heath will thank you later.
You can do it!!! Be stronger than those filthy smokes!

Remember, thetobacco companies used to have you in their greedy clutches. They are the biggest drug dealers around. Just do not give them the power over you anymore. We all should thank you for the efforts.
I loved going to strip clubs; I actually made some friends there. Now things are different for the clubs and for me. As a result I am not as happy.
Customers are not entitled to grope, disrespect, or rob strippers. This is their job, not their hobby, and they all need income. Clubs are not just some erotic show for guys to view while drinking.

I'm now on day 3. Today has been hard, because hubby is at work. We figured out that by not smoking hubby and I will save $3120! Isn't that crazy? I wondered how much was spent, but by not caculating there was no problem. We could use that money for so many things.
A question for anyone that has stopped smoking. Does everything taste different after quiting? I made roastbeef last night and used to love it. I almost got sick. I didn't do anything different while cooking it than in the past.
Another question for any girls that worked in a bar while quiting. The smoking ban hasn't hit here. What did you do with your hands while on the floor? On Sat. night I caught myself either rubbing my thighs or clasping my hands together.

Good luck!! I quit in febuary!

I can't say that support is the key to smoking cessation. There are plenty of websites and online support groups where you will find the encouragement and information you desire. I came across alot of them when I was searching for information etc for a friend years ago when she wanted to cease smoking.
Here's a start:

A book my friend recommends - http://quitsmoking.about.com/od/tips...CarrReview.htm
Oh btw, I totally totally recommend that you start a blog (online diary) where you posts your thoughts, feelings etc on your "quit smoking" journey. It will allow you to keep your mind busy as well as kinda on-track.

Ok, so I'm a "never smoker" however I can definately tell you from all the reading I have done as well as from my friends' collective experiences with smoking cessation that everything DOES taste different. Go to some of the links I pointed you to in the previous post... it will explain everything. Alot of people put on weight as they discover that certain foods taste divine... you get your taste buds back.Originally Posted by kryssy
Straws!!! Suck on a straw or place it where you would usually place a cigarette between your fingers. Bring some red licorce to suck on at work. If you want to be sexy, bring in a lollipop (ie chuppa chup) and suck on it. If your club uses napkins, start to make origami (I'm not kidding).Another question for any girls that worked in a bar while quiting. The smoking ban hasn't hit here. First thing that happens is your body is trying to purge the tobacco-based toxins and tars still in there. So coughing will help clear the 'leftovers.' For a few days you will find things taste different, from the tars mixing with the food, and smell different, but it goes away in time I'm told. Actually the body is constantly trying to rid itself of tobacco tars but when you smoke, you are leaving more in than your body is able to get rid of. Fortunately the body tries to cleanse itself constantly.Originally Posted by kryssy
