    Default still having problems....

The other nail thread reminded me about my problem. My nails are so thin and brittle ( even the toes), that they constantly break off ( and I mean all the way.) Also, they never grow very long either.

I never get fake nails, because I don't like the look of them, and I rarely even get a regular manicure ( maybe three times this year, but the nail techs always tell me that my nails are too thin, some even have said never seen thinner.

Well, I take vitamins. Lots of them. Multi, hair ( walmart kind), cod liver oil, tonalin, extra e, calcium - magnesium- zinc combo. Really, what could be wrong. I'm tired of having to go through a few days of pain untill the skin gets rough, and painting on nails where there are none.

Also, I'll add that I have no stds like aids or something that might cause this. I really have no clue what to do.

Do you use nail strengthner top coats? I used to have VERY thin, brittle, peeling nails and I started using this stuff religiously and it realy helped. I applied a coat every day and then would remove and start with a fresh new coat every 4-5 days.

Other than that, maybe talk to your doc. Perhaps, it is caused by fungus?

Fake nails are your friend. They look a hell of a lot better that no nails.
And, I hightly suggest talking to a doctor type that specializes in nails.
Tha't just too unusual to be anything good.

I'd keep an eye on your diet, all our physical problems are really linked to nutrition and get a lot of vitamins through your diet (not just pills) your body absorbs them better. But if you just have thin nails and it is just genetic or something, I'd just resign yourself to that and maybe do fake nails or keep them short.

I was telling my dentist the other day how I just have really bad teeth, they're very porrous (sp.) and susceptable to cavities, even though I take care of them and don't drink soda or eat a lot of sugar, and she said, ya that's true, but you have really good skin! Anyway, it just reminded me to remember what I had going for me.

Kind of a random, not helpful post - but I liked that she said that.

Yeah.. is deffo link between difficency and the way your nails look. Now I leave my nails alone, no products, hardeners etc and just pay attention to getting the nutrients they are strong and hard all of a sudden...

Keep em short and tidy.. will see results
