    Default Cabbage Soup Diet

THere's sort of another thread about it here: http://www.stripperweb.com/forum/sho...t=cabbage+soup

So I'm on it. It's day two. It's working... but omfg! I want some FOOD! I want a cheeseburger! The soup was good the first day but it's getting old fast.

Okay, I just wanted to complain.

I went on that diet when I was like 14 years old and lost a lot of weight but I was STARVING by the 2nd day. I was so happy when I got to eat that baked potato they allow you on one of the day's.

Ever since then even the thought of cabbage makes me feel a bit ill.
Plus, the weight you lose is water weight and you gain it right back within a few weeks plus some. I don't recommend it unless you desperately need to drop a few pounds in a hurry for a special event or something.

I agree. It's pretty sad when you're dreaming about that one potato like I was. Hah

TM, I'm definately REGULAR, but I'm not going and going and going. Maybe once at night, once in the morning.

I got to eat the baked potato last night and OMFG! That was the BEST baked potato I'd ever had in my LIFE! I get to eat fruit today, thank god. Mmmm, and as much milk as I want tomorrow!

I'm a little worried about work, though. I'm not bringing the soup with me... But a bunch of blueberries.

Well, I have one more day to go. I've only lost five pounds, blah. I did get days six and five mixed up and I cut back on alcohol, but I didn't cut it out. That could be why... On the brightside, I don't crave sweets or junkfood anymore. In fact, the very thought of beef makes me want to hurl! Yuck.

This is a starvation diet. It doesn't work after you get off the diet. In fact, you're probably gonna gain more weight back after you get off it because drastically robbing your body of calories like that will make your metabolism slow down to conserve.

Oh, and cabbage makes people really gassy too. Not to mention cooking the soup stinks up your house.

It's actually not a starvation diet, because you're allowed to eat as much of the stuff as makes you fill up. As long as you're taking a vitamin and eating as much as you can you should be fine (and as long as you maintain slight restrictions on your normal diet).

I just started it today! I feel great, and my soup turned out delicious. I've eaten a pineapple, a bunch of raspberries, a plum, and a bowl of great veggie soup and I'm rolling along good so far. Good luck to me on the following days, lol

This type of "diet" is soooooo bad for your body. It screws with a persons metabolism in a major way.

The only true healthy "diet" is a slow reduction of fat and calories combined with exercise. The idea is not to shock your body but instead to make gradual and permanent changes in what you eat and increase in physical activity.

While I support a persons right to do what they want with their own body, I strongly suggest not doing things that will damage ones health. The cabbage soup diet can damage a persons health so please think twice before trying it.

I see what you're saying, but as I eat very little normally and keep up with exercise I assume it won't permanently damage my metabolism. It's not a frequent thing, too! People who crash diet often are bound to end up with screwy metabolisms.

I see this diet as more of a veggie-fruit-water detox thing than a dropfat thing

It's a lose a bunch of water, muscle, glycogen, and (hopefully!), some fat thing....you still have to go back to your "normal" way of eating. Anyone considering such diets should consider reading my article "The Big Picture of Permanent Weight Loss"

"For most people reading this article, finding an effective diet that works most of the time must seem as complicated as nuclear physics. It’s not, but there are a bewildering number of choices for diets out there. High fat or no fat? High carbohydrate or no carbohydrate? Low protein or high protein? To make matters worse, there are a million variations and combinations to the above diet scenarios to add to the confusion. It seems endless and causes many people to throw up their hands in frustration and give up. In this article I will attempt to change all that."

I have a photo shoot next week that I want to look good for, I'm not doing this diet for long term weight loss, just as a quick fix for next week. My regular diet is pretty good so I think my body can take it.

My friend's mom makes this cabbage and shredded pork dish. It's soo good! Definitely not diet food though, but the only kind of cabbage I really like.

I saw a raw food recipe where you soaked the cabbage for a little while and then used it like chips for hummus

I could not agree more. I am studying fitness and nutrition, not an expert yet but this diet is just all kinds of wrong.
