Default Question for LA, CA dancers?

I was wondeing how far some of you commute to your home clubs? This is sort of an issue for me. I have been at my club for a little over two years. The commute is not bad, ( I only have to take the #405 for maybe three miles), the management rocks...but the $$$ has totally sucked lately.

I live on the westside, but I don't want to work on the westside of fear of being recognized (my day job is in pre-production entertainment).

Anyway, I guess I have to look around and I fear, drive even further.

So, how far do you gals commute and obviously it must be worth it? Really curious.

    Thanks.

Also, has anyone worked or auditioned @ Fantasy Island?

I commute to OC which takes me 10 min to get to work! but I'm starting to work in LA too and well the drive is about 25-40 min also taking the 405 as well.. 110.. and the 10. <--those are freeways for those who dont know what im talking about..

anyhow its not much of a problem for me.. I was considering of DOWNTOWN LA but eh... I'm lazy and its always traffic... but they all seemed to be worth it for ME..bc there is hometown clubs like 5 min away, but thats wayyy too close!

Thanks for your replies. I guess that is just the way of LA....living in traffic

Guenevere, I have a friend I met on this board who also worked @ FI three years ago when I first moved here. She moved to Vegas also. She was working @the OG, as of last year under the name of Bernadette. Maybe you might know her?

My drive to the club is about 25-30 minutes, depending on the traffic. I go from Hollywood to West LA.

She knows that my dance name is "Corri" (had to change my handle to log back on this site). She knows my real name but I don't use it as my handle. She does know that I work in the valley in a topless club, The Classy Lady. If this is the same person, she'll know who you are referring to.

I'd say a mix of blue collar white/Latin during the day with a couple (and I mean on one hand) high rollers. At night, it gets a bit ghetto. I find that since I speak OK Spanish that I seem to do pretty well with Latin guys that speak Spanish as a first launguage. They are reputed to be cheap, but they seem to open up their wallets when I use Spanish and ask them about themselves. I don't think they're used to it.

They tip a lot better than some of the "gangsters" that come in there.
