    Default over developed hip flexors

since i started dancing i've noticed that the muscle above my hip bones, the one that is usually quite prominant in muscular men, has become a lot bigger. my hips bones used to stick out and i really like the way it looked, and now they're obscured by the muscle.

what could i be doing that would cause these muscles to develop so much and is there anyway to make them leaner or smaller again?

Turn lemons into lemonaide, use this as a dance selling point. "Imagine who I could do to you with these strong hips...daaamn, I want to crawl on top of you and start squeezing."

I suppose a lot of floorwork (booty popping, crawling) or maybe you mount the pole in a certain way. Are there certain rules in your club about lap dances that cause you to have to contort your way through dances?

yeah, the contact allowed is Very minimal. i think it may be, in part, from leaning backwards onto guys' shoulders, because when i lean back is when the muscles seem to be tense.

maybe i'll learn to like them...but i'm really missing my sharp hip bones right now...

People tend to over-recruit their hip flexors when doing crunches. If you're pulling your upper body up onto the pole with your legs or overextending your abdominals and then pulling them taut again, this could certainly cause overdeveloped hip flexors, since your abdominals alone are not strong enough to lift your upper body through the entire range of motion.
Not much you can do but try to strengthen your abdominals so you'll use your hip flexors less. If you're crunching a great deal, keep the range of motion small, so that you don't use your hip flexors. And don't feel bad if you can't make the top of a crunch. You're not supposed to, if you want to work your abdominals.
