Exclamation Crack Up In The Sun, Lose It In The Shade

It is over 90 degrees & almost 11 PM where I am. The swamp cooler is no match for outside air that hot, this late. My sister is working the Modesto X-Fest Downtown Festival & she just told me people have been fainting from heatstroke all day & being taken away in ambulances.

However, I heard people are dying from power outages resulting in no A/C in St. Louis, Missouri, so I guess I should shut up.

Gawsh people, hyuck hyuck, how hot is it for you?

In Burbank, CA, someone told me it was supposed to be 105 degrees Fahrenheit today - and it felt like it this afternoon! Windy for a little while too - could have almost thought it was Vegas!

100-106, but wait! there is the heat index..makes it feel like 115. nights its closer to 90. i don't have A/C in my car so that 20 minute drive into work is no fun right now.

that lying SOB of a weather man keeps promising me rain but i have yet to see it.

    *does a rain dance*

    perhaps tomorrow..

Damn that global warming!!!!! Power's been out in Queens for days and Levittown (PA). Even at the beach it's been too hot to go out until the evening--6 in the evening.

it was at least 113 in Modesto yesterday. Each year, Xfest causes many people who only drink beer all day to faint from the heat.
I dont understand why the city hasn't moves the festival to a shaded area after the heat gets to so many poeple each year of it. I think it has happened every year.

I left a miserably hot, stifling Los Angeles that made me feel like I was being roasted alive. I am now in Manhattan, where it is somewhat overcast and somewhere around 75 F, and there is actually a bit of humidity so I don't feel like all the moisture is being burned from me. (I actually like humidity, and the lack of it is what I hate most about L.A.) So far I am fucking LOVING New York.

I love the heat. The hotter the better! We have been hovering around 85, and while everyone is bitching about the heat here, and cranking up their AC, I'm outside loving it...cutting the grass, gardening, walking the dog to the beach....I'm soaking up the heat and sun! And I don't have AC in my house, just a couple of fans to circulate the air.

It's hot here, fortunately the ocean breeze and skimpy clothing makes it bearable. And icy drinks, but I'm reminded of why winter is my favourite season...

I was outside working during the 118 degees...not fun! I'm drinking 2 cases of water every 3 days just to stay hydrated.
On the plus side...I'm gettin hella tan!

    A tan Irishman...ooooohhh!

I feel for you. I thought people got siestas in the Southwest- people I knew from Phoenix said a lot of businesses alter hours during the summer to avoid the heat. ?

100+ for days on end here. Nope, no AC either. Hubby and I were making love in the back yard last night, so as to stay a little cooler . Did I mention we don't have a fence and our yard is next to a busy street??

It hit 98.6 F this weekend in Manitoba. Doesn't sound very hot but when you're used to the temperature topping out at 68, it sure was a killer.

Plus...when it gets really hot like this the septic tank at the cabin starts venting. Makes the heat a LITTLE more unpleasant.

    Paris! Naughty! lol

I have to rant here: There are no good fans available anywhere. All is left are those personal fans or really exspensive ones. Im melting melting melting in my own house!

Maybe I'm getting used to it- the 110 F was bearable today.

I also went to Fresno today, where it was 109 F at 5 PM. If you ever live in Fresno, you will lose your fear of Hell. It was still hot when the sun went down.
