Default Protecting your hair from chlorine - new question

I know I posted another thread like this but I just discovered something - oil you put in your hair before you swim. It's called PROTECTIVE HAIR OIL by Biolage from their Sunsorials line. Has anyone tried this? Does anyone know of any other hair oil/product they could use before they swim?

I always swim w/my head out of the water...so it looks weird. My hair is long, dyed & I won't risk the damage. Even then, water can splash up on my hair, or seep up from the bottom of my neck, so I'd put on at least a plastic cap/scarf.
If I did tho, I would first dampen the hair, apply thick conditioner, a thin plastic bag, & over that a roomy swim cap. Then after wash, & deep condition.
I prob. would'nt go thru all this in a lake, or non-clorinated pool.

I use leave in conditioner or a thick conditioner like loreal anti-breakage

Here stores sell their own cheapish ranges of swim specific haircare, dont know if there are versions in US??.. swim shampoos, conditioners etc.

If I find any specific brands I will post em

the best chlorine damage preventive products are by nexxus (called aloe rid). i'm black so our hair id straw dry b/c of its type and to add chlorine is like adding gas to fire. these products work really well, so if you;re white/indian/oriental, it will work like 10x better for you.

I put conditioner through my hair and then wear a latex swim cap. It works pretty well.
