My friend pays out of pocket for it and gets 30 pills for about $30-$35 generic. That should be a whole month's supply. If you don't mind me asking, what do you pay now?

If your dose is 10mgs per day, get a scrip for the 20mg and break them in half. It's easy because they're scored into quarters. The pills all cost the same no matter how many milligrams.

Compared to a lot of meds out there, Adderall actually seems pretty cheap.

Canadian pharmacies are very truthworthy (the one that requires a script). Mexican ones on the other hand... not so much. Less regulation down there, hence more problems.

It is for Attention Deficit Disorder with Hyperactivity, it is being abused by both hollywood stars and students.. as it can cause alerntess, increased concentration and decrease in appetite

Works very well for condition tho.. I have managed to get it sorted privately now

Adderall is an ADHD medication. I also read an article in W magazine that a lot of women in hollywood are using the medication as an appetite suppressant to lose weight.

I don't like the generic. I ask for the brand despite the difference in price. 90 5-mg tablets usually runs about $230.00 at the local pharmacy, even when they price-match Costco. Ouch. Worth it, though.

Adderall is pretty much like pure speed. I was on it and I couldn't sleep or eat. I just wanted to tweak out all day. I think a lot more people use it for weight loss than for what it's intended for.

yes...adderall is a mix of two different amphetamine molecules (the "left-handed" and "right-handed" versions) whereas dexedrine and Ritalin contain just one of these molecules.

I very much doubt that you could legitimately get it online, as it is a controlled substance. However, I understand that the laws regarding its dispense have recently changed (though I'm not sure if they changed at the federal or state level. )

It used to be a "triplicate" script where one of the copies would be sent to the Department of Justice every time you filled a prescription. There were other restrictions, too: for instance, you had to fill the prescription within 14 days of the date it was written.

It seems they have relaxed some of these restrictions in the last year or so.

They only gave me 7 days to fill my script here in IL. Once I actually had to send my script to my mom in Missouri to get it filled for me because I didn't know about the law and they refused to fill it at walgreens.

They are really strict with the laws concerning adderall. Which is suprising considering how easy it is to get from a doctor. I just can't imagine putting a child on it though. Taking Amphetamines has to mess with a child in very negative way's. It's scary to me that so many kids are on it.
In severe cases I can understand, but it seems to me like most doctors are quick to throw a child on it and diagonse ADD at the first sign of trouble.

I mean that stuff made me feel pretty crazy after being on it for a few weeks. It made me kind of OCD. I would obsess over things like my makeup and spend hours online doing nothing.
It was wonderful at first as it gave me all this energy, and made me feel great but that wore off soon enough and I felt worse than before. I don't know if it was from the constant adreanaline rush, or the lack of sleep and food. But I wouldn't recommend Adderall to most people. It will mess with your head unless you really need it for severe ADD.

I didn't know that your name was reported everytime you filled a script. I wonder why that is?

Doctors don't prescribe it for weight loss, and I don't take it for weight loss.

I take it for ADHD, which was diagnosed after a pretty comprehensive set of tests, in conjunction with several appointments with behavioral psychologists and psychiatrists who were knowledgeable about the disorder.

When I first started taking the adderall, though I did feel more awake during the day, I did not feel "speedy." The thing that really struck me during the first few days I took it was this: "Wow. I had no idea how distractible I really was!” It was amazing to me that I could actually walk into a grocery store, buy a few things from a list, and walk out. Sounds simple, right? But I realized, after I started on the Adderall, that my typical behavior was to walk in, space out, and wander the aisles for an hour or more, just sort of checking out all the interesting things, and trying to remember what the hell it was that I’d originally come in to buy…I could suddenly go through life running errands like a relatively normal person.

It helps me with certain other tasks as well, and it generally does help me focus on schoolwork. It especially helps me with what they call “executive functions,” which come into play when your brain decides what needs to be done in order to complete a specific task: “Okay, you need to do this first, then this, then that. Ready? Go!” I struggle with this kind of thing a lot.

I think your reaction to this type of medication just depends on your particular brain chemistry. I don’t take it all the time, though; I often take days off, and I take med “vacations”, as is recommended. I’ve been off it for up to a year at a time a few times since the diagnosis.

The effects are no longer as pronounced as they were when I first began taking it, but I won’t increase the dose beyond 10-15 mg per day, and I still get some benefit from it, so it’s all good.

For the record, though, it does not make me lose weight, because each dose only lasts about 4 hours, and when it wears off you get hungry.

I'm not sure, Magdalena, but I think that the Department of Justice copy was more to keep tabs on the doctors than the patients--to make sure they aren't prescribing massive amounts to people who are turning around and dealing it illegally. That kind of thing.

^ Your story makes me think I might need Adderall. Can't tell you the amount of times I've walked into the mall and spent three hours trying to find something that I didn't remember what I was looking for and come out with $100 worth of things I thought were 'pretty' and not the thing I came for. >_>
