Default Does this happen in your club?

A lot of the girls in my club are in the back on their cell phones with their boyfriends throughout the shift (8pm to 5am), crying that they just want to come home, etc.

I admit I have been that person for the last two weeks or so, usually happens more when I have worked a lot of days in a row (because we are out of town from anywhere from 2 to 5 days).

Just wondering if this happens in your club....

Never happens... A lot of them are checking on their kids or FIGHTING with their bfs, though.

I was just going to say that. I call to check on the kids... or if I am fighting with Joe. Sometimes I can't let it go, or, I try and make up and then end up fighting some more. Generally though I avoid the phone. It throws off my mood and then...the money.

Checking for missed calls from home... I think that is ok.

we have a strict rule in our club NO CELL PHONES ON THE FLOOR. its because its just rude when girls are talking to a custy and their phone rings. it looks really tacky.

Yeah. The girls in my club stick with the dressing room for cell phone conversation. It's mostly the fighting with the BFs here, but i haven't heard that too often. Most girls stick with texts (thank goodness) or are out on the floor.

All clubs should have this rule. A dancer taking a call when she is with a customer will break up the magic spell pretty quickly, and even if she is just sitting at the bar it looks like she is uninterested.

At our club we can talk on our phones where ever except on stage. But, there have been a lot of girls lately in the DRESSING ROOM crying to their boyfriends/husbands that we just want to go home and just cant handle this (the night) right now.

I mean, on average I would say at least 4 girls a night.

I stopped bringing my cell phone in the club because I would get a little buzzed and then call people and they would think I was acting like the typical stripper. So if my babysitter wants to get ahold of me she can call the club... it doesn't happen often and the dj would just say "Torry check sound" or something or maybe while they catch me backstage they'll tell me I got a call.

But I have seen a few girls on the phone, but there is a no cell phone policy at dollhouse.

I couldn't imagine talking on the phone wherever at work. Why the hell wouldn't you go in the dressing room???? Dumb asses. No girls crying to come home, but a lot of fighting w/asshole BF's at my club.

What the hell are you guys talking about?

My OP was about girls IN THE DRESSING room talking to their boyfriends/husbands about wanting to come home. There are usually tears, and a lot of sobbing of course.

I was just wondering if there is something really going on in my club or if everyone had situations like this happen on a nightly basis.

It isnt the same girls, it is different girls every night. That is the weird thing.

Anyways, to clarify again... I wasnt saying they/we were talking on our cell phones on the floor.

I can't imagine dealing with the stress of answering my phone in the middle of a shift. It stays in my locker where people who want to talk to me can leave messages, just like they'd leave a message for anyone else who was supposed to be working.

I think the original girl who posted said they were in the back. Very rarely do I call anyone at work, usually only when it is slow. I don't have a boyfriend, but sometimes when the night is sucking and I have lost my mojo, I will call a good guy friend and ask him to give me a pep talk. It's always good to have a friend to remind you who you are, and that you are loved .. no matter what those other people say or think. Any personal phone conversations should be handled in the dressing room, and kept to a minimum. Don't need anyone else's drama bringing me down. (Some of the fights are funny though)

I am usually too busy working the floor to notice...Except when I have to pee and every once in a while there is some girl screaming obscenities to a boyfriend /husband...And that's my motivation to get back on the floor!

heh.. all the time..don't let the club be slow!! cuz everybody would be in the dressing room on the phone, fixing their selves up or goofing around until the DJ announces the 2-4-1 specials than everybody gets off the phone and go str8 out to the floor LOL

i sometimes be on the phone with friends when im down..somehow i feel sad when im working, thinkin about the negatives of stripping and the stereotype and i just get real sad.. but the music is soo damn loud, theres no need to be on the phone anways! LOL plus ppl hog up the bathrooms bc they dont want anyone to know that their "working" tryin to find places to hide to make a phone call

this is a very stressfull job, i dont care what anyone says IT IS NOT EASY! being turned down over and over in a night really can wear thin on your self esteem. the trick is to just let it roll off your shoulders smile and move on and get over it, or you will cause yourself more stress in the end. espically by calling your man and bitching, it only makes you more aware of your insecurites and makes you feel worse about yourself and what boyfriend wants to know how unhappy his stripper girlfriend is with her job.

If you have to cry to your man every night saying you can't do it and it's too terrible - stop doing it. 1. You're crying and losing more money. 2. You've sold your soul somewhere, look for it. and 3. Stop bringing EVERYONE ELSE in the club down with your sob stories.

I call only to check on my kids, and sometimes if its REALLY slow i'll call a friend to pass a few minutes by. Other than that I try not to make any phone calls while i'm at work. So far I've havent seen anyone else at my work crying to BFs on the phone or anything.

Hmm.. When I'm tired of assholes, I call my boyfriend so I can hear a real man tell me I'm wonderful and beautiful, instead of a skeezy one

I never check my phone out on the floor.. if I feel it vibrate in my purse and I'm not with a customer, then I go in the dressing room to check it. That's the only place where the music isn't too loud to hear, anyway.

I've not noticed it much. When I do hear those conversations, it is usually the newbies or the vets who are making those calls.

The vets remeber when the money was easy to make, and get frustrated with the way things are now. The newbies, I think, are sometimes in shock that working in the strip club is the complete opposite of real life, where men trip over themselves to be near a beautiful woman, but in the club the customers (whom we'd never give the time of day to) are almost resentful of the dancers.

Promote yourself and earn more money! This is a business that is owned by strippers for strippers. Let's make that money!

I would have to agree with your statement, having been doing this 9 years - that is usually what I bitch about. The money isnt 'thrown' around anymore like it used to be. I hear girls on here and at my clubs say 'it used to be so easy to make a grand a night'. Now, its like pulling teeth to make 500. And the new girls are -I think- trying to get used to it.

I have to say though, I have never ever worked in a club where the majority of the girls (myself included) are so unhappy after working 3 or 4 days a week.

    Its sad

i try to only go to the dressing room when i am called to stage since we go to stage from there. it scares me in the light how sad ugly and drugged up some of the girls look. i hope i dont look that way.

i only call people when its really slow.

I'll occasionally text a dancer friend or my boy with "blaaa slow night"... then I go off, work the floor, and then come back to an inspirational "make $$!" message. That is, I enjoy getting little motivational messages and don't mind fishing for them. But never phone calls... it's too loud!
