    Default HELP!!!! Self Tanner Accident!

OK....I usually use Loreal Sublime lotion for a self tanner. I went to get some at the store and all they had was the gel. It dries a lot quicker and it seems like it's not as easy to control.

I accidentally got way too much on my hands and feet. Especially my FEET!! My feet have leporosy

So, I have been exloliating my feet and hands vigorously. It's bad enough I am working tonight and tomorrow. But even more important is that I have an important event party that my boss (other job ) is throwinng and in this weather, I am NOT wearing BOOTS!!

(Can you tell I'm distressed? Ha-ha) My question is: What is the most sure thing to use to get this temporary leporosy off my feet by Thursday evening?

I can really use the advice. I'm desparate.

I recently had a self tanning accident too. I knew it was bad when I went to get a pedicure and the nail tech put on latex glover after she saw my feet. I used a pumice stone around my feet and ankels. I also used a deep cleaning mud mask on my feet and ankels. I let the mud mask dry for about 30 min. It did not remove all of the self tanner, but it did help.

Constant exfoliation. Use a body scrub daily in the shower and a body lotion/foot cream with AHA, retinol, or someother chemical exfoliant in it...

    Good luck!

^ there is a product to help remove tanners...as soon as I find the name, I'll post it...you can do a search on self-tanners, etc...it's bound to be in one of those threads.

You can also use facial hair bleach to remove it. It won't do it evenly and it'll dry the crap out of your skin, but it will remove it.

Acetone (nail polish remover) helps but it's really drying so if you try it wash with soap and water afterwards and then moisturize! I would use the salon strength formula it's super strong, it also takes off permanent marker from skin.

I just bought some but haven't tried it yet. I have tired, a sugar scrub, soap&water, rubbing alcohol and polish remover(but the moisturizing kind). The sugar scrub worked a little ( and I mean little)but it's a start.

    thanks for the replys.

A couple odd things that seem to help:

Cuticle remover - for small f-ups such as on the feet and hands

The chemical peels you can buy for your face - I tried the Olay combo one and it irritated my skin, but the one from Neutrogena helped quite a bit.

The salt and lemon juice works well also if the spots aren't too dark, on hands and feet it works pretty good.

I was going to try that Mr. Clean eraser stuff, but read that it can cause abrasions on skin if used. I'd rather have leper feet, than scabbed up, irritated feet.

It is coming off, but very SLOWLY

There is a self tanner remover product: brand name, San Tropez. Sephora & Ulta have it. Also, check out the site iamtan.com. They have forums, reviews, etc. all about tanning products. Good luck.

I found this out totally on accident, but ajax cleaner will remove self tanner on arms. I don't know if it will work on feet where the skin is thicker.

I broke down and tried the Mr. Clean eraser stuff. I had to scrub too hard. It really didn't work and my feet kinda burned afterward. I am back from the party I was so worried about. I was able to disguise my feet w/ some body make-up and thank goodness the crowd was more artsy than the usual Hollywood stuck-up, critical peeps.

I'll look into some of that mistake corrector stuff.

    Thanks ladies.
