    Default My 1st Vegas Experience

I thought I'd share my story with everyone since there is an overwhelming curiousity to travel and work in Vegas.

I am in Phoenix so I made the 5.5 hour drive into town on Wednesday (07-19). Checked into my room at the Stardust. I got rates from $49 dollars for the weekdays and $109 for the weekend nights. I booked on Tripres.com and had no problems with my reservation. The rooms were suprisingly clean for an older casino. The bed was a little springy but I could tell all the linens were fresh so I was happy with that since I'm a germaphobe.

I was in Vegas during the "Lifestyles" convention and low-and-behold it was being held at the Stardust. For those of you that don't know it is a big Swingers/Orgy party. I got propositioned a few times to join in on some fun but declined since I'm not a prostitute and I was there to make money not have fun.

Ok, anyway, Wednesday night... I got all sexafied and took a cab to Scores to get my referal slip. This chic looked me up and down and gave me a piece of paper. Thursday morning I went to the Sheriff's Card office. Paid $45 dollars and the whole process took about an hour. They run your background and fingerprint you and take your mug shot. My pic turned out pretty good actually!

Thursday night...went back to Scores and asked to audition. Put on my outfit and went to a little side stage in a room they call the Piano Bar. Twirled around and stripped down to thong for about 1/4 of a song. House Mom and GM said ok your hired. I started that night. Manager Gary is a total sweetie. He gave me a couple of comp tickets so I could get a drink at the bar. So, I get nice and buzzed and approach my first table. Immediately sold them on going to VIP upstairs. Bam, right of the bat I made $500 bucks. Me and this couple hung out for the rest of the night and I didn't feel like husteling around so they gave me another $350. So, after tip out and cab fare, I walked with $800.

Friday night I thought I'd expand my horizons so I went to Spearmint Rhino. I was NOT impressed upon walking in. The dressing room is small and there were too many girls. Alot of them were cracked out looking whore types too (not to offend anyone that may work there). John, the PM manager had me strip down to my bra and thong (I didn't bring a bikini) but fortuntaly I was wearing some sexy bra and panties. So, I stood in the hallway for like twenty minutes waiting for him to look me up and down. I think he is on drugs or somthing---just kind of weird. Anyway, I was hired there but I told him I would start tomorrow night because I wanted to get the hell out of that place. Went back to Scores....long story short made $1200 that night.

Saturday night sucked for me. It was just so crazy busy I was overwhelmed. It was literally like being in a fully packed dance night club. You couldn't even squeeze through the crowd much less try to hustle for dances. I made $300 and asked to leave early. Once again, Gary was super sweet and let me go.

So, yeah there is money to be made during the summer but I don't know if I really did any better than my home club here in Phoenix when you consider time and expenses. It was fun though and now I'm all set for when convention season rolls around and want to pop into Vegas for some good earnings.

Sounds like you've found the pros and cons of it all and have prepared yourself well for when you want to come back. Congratulations!

I wish I'd known you were going to be in town...I got into Vegas Saturday night and I'm leaving in few hours for LA. Would've been great to meet a SWer or two this weekend

Thanks for the Vegas review and everything about it from the hotel rates to how the manager treated you. Yea, I dont do well when its busy and I get overwhelmed like you. Sounds like you had a good experience overall.

I've stayed there twice and liked the low-key old-Vegas nature of that place.

Enjoy it while you can because after the end of this year, it will merely be "dust". In fact they've already stopped booking rooms online after the end of October.

Yeah, it's kind of sad because it's not a shabby hotel/casino. I talked to bartenders/staff that have worked there 20+ years and they are heart broken.

I've heard that if I include travel expenses and all that, I'd pretty much break even if I went to Vegas. Thanks for your input!

My question to the ladies would be: Would you rather...

    a) net X amount of money after expenses while at home; or
    b) net X amount of money after expenses while in Las Vegas?

(In other words, would you put up with the issues particular to Vegas versus your home club/area if you didn't make any more or less money than staying at home?)

^^A. Why bother with the hassle of driving/airports, cabs, extra LV licensing, extra LV club bullshit, etc, only to make the same money you'd make at home?? Travelling to work is only worth it if you'll bring home more than you'd make in the same days at home.

If you are there to make money, I'd recommend a few of the nicer motels out past the airport on LV Blvd. Some are nice, have kitchens and weekly rates in the neighborhood of $275. The last one I stayed at while on business was the Hearthside inn and paid $220 for 5 nights including tax. It was fairly new, nice (not great), acceptable and close. There are quite a few of those.

I was there for the lifestyles event, as a swinger, and honestly the population of people at the sc's during that time, more than likely, aren't indicitave of the normal summer. The event was nationwide and from my party alone there were over 500 people(and there were many more parties than just the one I was with). They were at ALL the hotels and even occupied the whole upstairs of Scores a few nights. I agree you can make money, but when I was in Vegas I was wishing I was dancing, b/c there were so many more custys that week.

hi girls! i wanted to share my 1st vegas experience also.. so here it goes..

i arrived in las vegas on july 23rd (sunday) early afternoon from san francisco. After i unpacked and got ready, i headed out to cheetah's to get a referral slip, spearmint rhino and crazy horse too. i didnt get hired at the rhino for the 9pm-5am shift but i got hired for the 1-9pm shift there. At the rhino, they made me change into a bikinki w/ stilettos and walk up & down the hallway. At the crazy horse too, i got hired for the 9pm-5am shift.. all they did was look at me up & down with my regular clothes just standing in front of the manager at his office.

monday morning (7/24) i went to the sherrif's office at 8am and i was out of there with my card in my hand by 9am. Went straight to the business license office from there and that took about 30-45 minutes. I went to work at crazy horse too on monday night (9pm-5am shift).. it was pretty slow since it was a weekday and summer season.. the house fee for crazy horse too is $65 plus tipouts to the dj & housemom. i made $200 after tipouts

tuesday (7/25) i went to club paradise to audition around 8pm. when i told the valet guy that im here for an audition but didnt have a long gown with me.. he said to just talk to the manager and see what he says. So i went inside the club and talked to the manager, told him my situation and told me that i can still audition with my short cocktail dress with stilettos. I changed into my outfit and my audition was at the vip room stage.. very small round stage with a pole. he told me to walk around the pole once, take my top down.. walk around the pole again and take my dress off and that was it and got hired. i needed a long gown to work so they gave me the option of coming back the next day with a dress or buy one from the housemom. the housemom had a gorgeous black dress so i bought it from her (she makes it) and worked that night. 1st night working there is free housefees. i made about $150 so it was pretty slow. 1 thing i like about club paradise: if you go in by 5pm the housefee is free. the downside is.. the stage is like a catwalk.. long stage but no pole. i never danced on stage without a pole so it was a bit weird.

wednesday (7/26) & thursday (7/27) i took the day off

friday (7/2 i worked at crazy horse too at 9pm-5am. there was about 200 girls working.. probably more customers then girls so it was pretty good. made about $500 after tipouts.

I personally like the crazy horse too the most of all clubs that I have worked while I was there. the girls tend to be nicer, the locker rooms are much bigger and nicer then the ones at spearmint rhino and club paradise, theres even a store selling outfits and shoes inside the locker room, the management is ok

best management was at club paradise from my experience. I can see high potential there when the busy season comes.. it is a very classy club & laid back

spearmint rhino, i personally didnt like working there. Day shift was dead but also the fact that their locker rooms are so packed at night and gets crazy there.

im planning on going back to vegas in september to work at crazy horse too and possibly club paradise

Has anyone heard of the "mandatory" 20% tip-out for VIP in newer Vegas clubs??!!!
    Here is my experience.

I've worked in a few of the older Vegas clubs but last night (Wednesday) my girlfriend and i went to the newer ones (with the exception of club paradise) to check them out. First we hit Sin and spoke to a guy who says he's the GM--Barry. House tip outs are reasonable and he says there are only around 80 girls max on the weekend, which is pretty good for Vegas. The club was quite large and I really liked the stages--very large circular with poles in the middle--3 in total. My major concern was that he said he requires girls to tip out 20% for all VIP room visits!! This shocked me. He said this is standard in most newer Vegas clubs these days. This seemed outrageous to me if you add on house fees, DJ and house mom. I hate feeling extorted by club employees. Other than that, the guy was very nice and helpful. He spent quite a bit of time with us and said we could come back anytime to work.

We then went over to Seamless--This club is the most beautifully designed club I've seen yet in Vegas. Stunning decor with a full martini bar and a regular dance floor that opens up on weekends to the public. There is one stage--3 poles. The manager, Joel was also very helpful and toured us around while giving us the lowdown on the club. He doesn't like girls working there that are looking to "bounce around" to different clubs. He doesn't like to overload his club with girls but rather keep a smaller number of good ones who work regularly and there are never more than a 100 girls on a weekend. This club is low-mileage and upscale. Apparently they are operating on a limited license so there is no touching the guy anywhere below the shoulders if you are topless. The guy can't touch the girl anywhere if she is topless and girls' boobs can't come anywhere in contact with the customer ever. 3 Separate rooms for VIP. 3/100 room, 1/2 hour for 200 with 50.00 bar tab and 1 hr/400 with 100 bar. When I asked him about the 20% tip out to VIP he said that while he can't give me an exact percentage, that 20% is good but that it's up to the girl. I got the feeling that it is expected but he was more subtle about it. He also hired us with no audition.

We then checked out Sapphire and the manager there was a jerk. He said he couldn't show us around because he was too busy as he was the only manager on duty and that we couldn't show ourselves around cause too many girls tried to sneak in to work without registering. He said we would have to audition but I didn't like his attitude so we left. We were in our street clothes and didn't have time as we just wanted to hit as many clubs as possible.

We went to Scores after that. 1 stage, no pole and the girls weren't doing much on stage, if anything at all. They all looked bored. This is a gown club. Spoke to a guy named Rich but wasn't sure what his position was. Think he could have been a doorman masquerading as manager. He was as adamant as the SIN guy that no girl gets into VIP without tipping 20%. He said the club has a hold on their VIP customers and none get through the door without going through the doormen who will only introduce girls who are good tippers. I really didn't listen to much else he had to say as I was quite turned off by this. But he did say we could come back and work there anytime. No audition.

We stopped by Club Paradise last. My girlfriend had worked here many years ago and said she absolutely loved it. They let us go in and sit down for about 10 minutes to see what the club was like after all these years and it was as classy as ever. It was very dark but the dances seemed low mileage. No grinding. It is very small and cozy.

We both have to get our business licenses but after will probably go back to Seamless. They offered to get our licenses for us if we wanted to start right away but it would be an extra 50.00 although he did say he'd let us work for 4 days if we wanted to get our own but then we'd have to have them.

I can understand clubs wanting 20% if they actually are hooking girls up for VIP but this is outrageous if the girls find their own guys to bring back.
Does anyone have feedback on this?

I'm happy to hear you had a great experience. I've had good and bad times in Vegas. I also agree with everything you said about the Spearmint Rhino. I wish I would have skipped that place and went to Scores--but as we all have said, you just don't know until you try it for yourself. I think it's just that each girl has a different comfort level and it really makes a difference in how well you will do when you are feeling comfortable in the place you are in. I know a few girls that will only go to SR when they visit. Same thing with others that really like CH2.

Sorry ladies, I know this is for dancers only, but this BS. I've been going to Scores since Jaguars first opened and my ATF and another dancer have never ever mentioned that there's a 20% tip requirement to enter the VIP. Yes there is a bouncer in front of the entrance. Yes my ATF will often tip/slip the bouncer a $20 when we leave the room, but it's usually after she's made 2-$300 off me on 3/$100 sets.

Thanks Guenevere. I thought it didn't make much sense. I can't see many girls tolerating this. It's been awhile since I've worked in Vegas but I never had to deal with anything like that years ago. 10% sounds far more reasonable. Personally I feel that I should only tip at all if the person does something for the tip but If I begin to feel extorted, I would just leave the club altogether. It's not worth it.

The is NOT a required tip out to enter the vip rooms at Scores. The only tips that are mandatory at this club are minimal...housemom and DJ.

That said, it is good business to tip floorstaff and VIP hosts. Tipping will not guaruntee that you make money (at any club), but think about it. The staff is there to help you make money. Let them know that you can work together....if a guy comes in with $1000, and a host has to choose between two girls to send over, one who tips and one who doesn't, who do you think he'll pick??? It's the business, and it's not going to change.
